Yup! We got up this morning and looked out our front window to see the green grass and bare pavement for the last time for about 5 months.. because tomorrow morning, everything will be covered in snow, and with the long range weather forcast calling for -9s and -12s.. I think the snow will be here to stay.. having said that, there is nothing more beautiful than the the city with a fresh fall of snow. It's like living in a winter scene post card.
There are so many trees in the city it rivals many rural areas.

Winnipeg and Minneapolis have a lot in common, a dense tree canopy being one of them.

I don't get why everyone is making such a fuss. Winnipeg gets snow storms all the time.

Re: Snowpocalypse 2012 (Winnipeg, Manitoba)
Some of British Columbia's mountains get far more snow than anywhere else in Canada. The highest average annual snowfall recorded at a weather station is 1471 centimetres (48 feet) on Mount Fidelity. The station sits above the Trans Canada Highway at 1875 metres (6150 feet) elevation on the west side of Glacier National Park. This is also where snow falls most often in the country, averaging 144 days a year.

Re: Snowpocalypse 2012 (Winnipeg, Manitoba)
Update to Snowpocalypse.

Thought we were going to get off easy.
The snowfall was way under what was forecast when it stopped this afternoon.

I shouldn't have bothered shoveling as we're being hit with another round of snow now, worse than the first.

All the cars parked on the street look like they are wearing matching white stove-top hats.

Dagnabbit, I was so sure we were going to escape the brunt of the storm.

I blame Colorado! Keep your lows to yourself.

Guess I know what I'll be doing tomorrow.
