Re: Algerian military plane crashes in France
"An Algerian military cargo plane crashed Friday in southern France with six people aboard, the North African country's defense ministry confirmed. The fate of those on the aircraft was not immediately known. The plane went down around 4 p.m. in Trelans, a town 375 miles (605 kilometers) south of Paris, according to local officials. The Sipa news agency cited an unnamed witness as saying a parachute was spotted in the sky at the time of the crash, but gave no more details. Firefighters fought a blaze at the scene of the crash, Sipa reported, citing local police. The plane carried five military personnel and one official of the Algerian national bank, the Algerian defense ministry said. It had taken off from Paris and was returning to Algeria."

Re: Algerian military plane crashes in France
Rescue workers found four bodies Friday amid the wreckage of an Algerian military cargo plane that was carrying six people from Paris to Algiers when it went down in flames in a mountainous region of southern France, officials said.

The twin-engine CASA C-295 plane was carrying a cargo of banknote paper for the Bank of Algeria, according to a source familiar with the matter.

One body was found in the pilot's seat and three others in the cabin, which had become separated from the front of the plane, said Samuel Finielz, a prosecutor from Mende in the Lozere department.

Emergency workers continued to seek the other two bodies after they extinguished the wreckage, which burned for about an hour after crashing.
