I guess we agree that the probability that a lady decides to go out with you is AT LEAST 0.5% (really it can't be smaller than that, or else there is something terribly wrong with you which I guess is not the case here).
Then the probability that you will get at least one date in one year is more than 1-0.995^(52) = 23%. In two years time, its 41%! So there is hope!
