The Book of Thoth (Egyptian/Crowley) Tarot
I'm not a Tarot 'believer' any more than I'm a Christian, a Satanist, a Muslim, an Astrologer or any other belief simply because I have the book, but I must say I am very impressed with the Crowley Tarot.

Whatever he may have been the guy really knew his stuff, and The Book Of Thoth is an amazingly rich symbolic Tarot.
I dare say it covers most religious schools and synthesizes them all into one coherent system.

Anyone else have any experience or story's to tell with regards The Book of Thoth?

To say that I was simply "impressed" with the tHOTH Tarot would be one of the biggest understatements that I could ever make. :)

Yeah.. it's another trick of Satan/Lucifer meant to deceive people and lead them away from the Truth about God.

Stay far away from it unless you want to be fooled by the teachings of the wicked spirits.

Funny that you chose "Enoch" as a nickname here, and then proceed to say what you just said.

I read all sorts and have loads of Crowley's books. All a bit over my head but the Tarot is amazing. It actually explains where your God and Jesus come from...Gotta love those 'wicked' spirits :-)

Re: The Book of Thoth (Egyptian/Crowley) Tarot
I have used this deck for many years... fifteen, at least. I particularly enjoy the visual elements. Many decks are quite spartan, relying only on the archetypes and ideas repesented by each card. The detail and richness of the symbols in the Thoth deck allow for another level of interpretation. Often the very images themselves speak directly to the query, further elucidated by the card's particular meaning. I have even had experiences where the image WAS the answer, irrespective of the card it was on.

Besides all that, they are pretty and interesting to look at.

They're beautiful to say the least. I bought my deck in 1993 with the companion Crowley volume and just dabbled really. I got hold of a 'divination' book that used the Thoth Tarot exclusively but it just seemed trite and I dumped it.
Apart from taking my deck out to show people I don't touch it much but every now and again I'll mess around and just enjoy the imagery and symbolism.
I think I'm too circumspect to attempt readings ;-)

Re: The Book of Thoth (Egyptian/Crowley) Tarot
i'm not impressed with anything crowley did

do you know how this deck was created?

he held a woman captive for months and tortured her spiritually and forced her to paint these cards.

the man was a devil, but not incarnate. he was an insane mistake.

when MUSSOLINI BANISHES someone, rather than execute you, then you know that that person is fucked in the head.

everyone that he ever declared an enemy was someone he once called teacher and friend. those teachers and friends became concerned with the incorrect path he was taking their teachings down and that caused his hatred for them.

plain and simple : crazy person made up a bunch of crazy shit. be usurped symbols and bastardized entire concepts of occultism.

fuck him in the ear.

Yeah.. I know they co-opted my name and defamed it with things like "Enocian Magik" or whatever.

Just remember.. my name was Enoch first... way long before they tried to corrupt it.

Just another reason why the wicked spirits are on my "not happy with" list.

Oh Kayyyyy...He was a lot of things that people dislike for sure, but that didn't make him a 'bad guy'. He wasn't attempting to live by our rules and laws and if he found some suckers on the way, I say good for him.

Crowley never held Frieda Harris captive. I've never even heard of such nonsense. They were very close friends.

Years ago I was visiting my grandmother. Late one night, I was reading The Book of Thoth. Just before turning off the light to go to sleep, I sat there on the bed in the guest room, which was next to my grandmother's bedroom, with the book closed, just meditating on what I'd been reading. On the back cover of the book was an image of the Egyptian god Thoth holding a long rod in one hand and an ankh in the other. I heard my grandmother crying out in the next room. I jumped up and went to see what was the matter. She awoke and said there was a man standing over her bed, with a stick in his hand. She calmed down and I went back to the guest room with wide eyes, mouthing to myself, "WHOA!...HO-LY CRAP!"
