BREAKING Petraus will NOT Testify at Benghazi Hearing | |
ReVbo™ User ID: 27443900 United States 11/10/2012 09:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm not sure about this, but I think, if he were still in his role as CIA director, he would have to testify, but as a civilian, he can plead the 5th. Only if there are criminal charges pending against him. I think he resigned because his testimony would reveal what Obama did and has been doing all across the Middle East with his backing al Qaeda and gun-running. Hope Petraeus doesn't disappear. Chicagostyle. So, if he's just being questioned, with no criminal charges against him, he can still be compelled to testify? Well, that blows my theory as to why he quit. How does his resignation help Obama if he can still be forced to cooperate? I, too, hope he doesn't just disappear. John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. |

Chicagostyle. I agree with the fact that he knew what Obama did and what has been happening with the Middle East. Having an affair may not be the whole story, it is just an acceptable may for him to be dismissed without speaking what he may know. I agree with a subpoena being issued for him to testify. |

He was in charge of the CIA when the Benghazi attack occurred, and the CIA has been under plenty of fire for how the attack was handled. [link to patdollard.com] The way it looks to me is that it was not Petraeus (the man) who was to testify, it was the head of the CIA. This week's hearings still hear from the "head" of the CIA as planned. It just won't be "the man" who recently held that job. Technicality, but still the way it is. Petraeus, the private man, can testify later. His input would still be extremely important, but he would not be testifying as the current head of the CIA, that's all. Personally, I don't trust him or any of these major players. |

I am more than intrigued by this developement. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22557883 If what you're saying is true it would prove beyond doubt that the Obama administration is the most clueless presidency ever to not detect something like this. |

The CIA carried out the Bhengazi attacks, so it would be awkward to have Petraeus testify. You gotta keep up, Deebs (Doorbs?)! |

Quoting: AlcoholicRunner [link to www.thegatewaypundit.com] Good to know. Thanks, young Homer! Why would someone who is in the limelight and under the microscope as the director of the CIA jeopardize his career in this fashion? This affair and the timing with which it was released smells rotten to the top. Petraeus, like any other soldier has given an oath to preserve, protect and defend the US and its constitution. If there is infidely (true or not), then why would that be a deterrent or roadblock in telling the truth concerning the execution of his sworn duty to defend this country and its principles? There was the intent to testify, and now due to personal reasons he decides not to? Isn't that selfish, and somewhat treasonous? |

He quits over an affair, but its OK to run an organization that has a license to kill and run dope. Gotcha! I suppose if he was a closet poofter, and someone said something derogatory to him, then they would do jail time, and he would be OK? Trying to find logic in this madness is a total joke. |

He's at the pinnacle of that career and would probably do well to retire and draw his pension without having some "untimely" death..... Pensions seem to have a way with foreshadowing those oaths of office. He's lucky if he lives long. |

So, he fell on the sword and took one for the team to protect a dark agenda? I find it odd that someone who is in the business of death would consider this supposed lapse of morality a gamechanger for what he does. |

This is complete and total character assassination, and removal of a political enemy/witness to their crimes. A lot of this sort of thing is going to happen. Valerie Jarrett said it would.
