If Petraeus really DID have an affair and if the FBI truly WAS worried about him being in a position to be "compromised", he'd have resigned for OTHER reasons, like "health concerns", or "wanting to spend more time with his family". The REAL reason is never given initially.

The fact that we're being told right off the bat that it was an affair is VERY unsettling, because almost assuredly, that's NOT the real reason.

As a matter of fact, Paula Broadwell, a fellow soldier and graduate of West Point, might even be playing a role here; "taking one for the team", as it were -- playing the patsy to cover for Petraeus' resignation.
