| the Questeon ? User ID: 25616504 12/07/2012 07:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Got my chia seeds yesterday. I have some soaking in water, going to make something like tapioca with them tonight! Quoting: Laura Bow have you made your chia suprise yet, I just been mixing with the yogurt, tastes sort of fishy but the 1st time i did it got alot of energy next times not so much Your chia has a fishy taste? Wow, it shouldn't! Where did you get them from? I don't think it's easy for them to go bad, but...? My chia seeds are tasteless when soaked in water, if taken dry they remind me of a poppy seed. I haven't done too much wtih them yet outside of making my tapioca with gel, a splash of cream and vanilla, and sweetener. it is fishy only when i grind it up, just letting it soak in water its great and made a egg nog and goat milk pudding |

I don't think I could do the ones that are soaked in water...guess it's a texture thing. There are some people who do that, I don't though. You can see some of my posts, I've made them into crackers...or you could put them into baked goods. The ones that are soaked in water are similar to a tapioca or rice pudding, if you don't want to eat it that way you can incorporate that gel into yogurt, cottage cheese, oatmeal, or baking as well. |

I think this thread is going to inspire me to buy some more, thanks! Quoting: Laura Bow Interesting. I'm also doing paleo low-carb diet to fight diabete, this could fit into my lifestyle easily. |

My kids dip apple slices in it (me too!) and other fruits as well. Expect some appetite reduction. Even if you soak them, they still get bigger in your stomach, filling you up in a way that lasts. :) |

I add it to a juice and hit the road. Adding it to juice makes a jelly like shield around the seed and I think that’s what make me feel "Fuller". I also eat Hemp seeds. |

I always felt I was force feeding myself for breakfast but I feel good with liquid and the seed. Thanks for the info ill check it out. |
