Im seeing this happening EVERYWHERE. My girlfriend has been being "let go" early every twice a week so she does not get enough hours for the benefits. My job has cut back on hours for the same reason. Things are coming down the river and it smells like SHIT

"TOLEDO, Ohio -
Dana Corporation is warning its employees that there could be a large number of layoffs on the way.

The Washington Times reports that Dana will likely pay $24 million over the next six years in healthcare expenses and that cost is driving the layoffs."

I know allot of you hate universal health care, and I'm NOT telling you what to like or not like, or how to run your country, but if your going to have it, I think this is the wrong model. We have it up here, we all pay into it and we all can go to any hospital or doctor and get treated. Maybe the demographics is the difference we have 1/10 the population. Before the rush of Libtard Commie Welfare bum starts, its been around all my life, I work, and I dont hate your constitution or your country. Ok let me have it.

Re: List of companies reducing employee's hours due to Obamacare...
People need healthcare. Healthcare is very expensive.

I heard last night on a radio show that 33% of those working a 40 hour week are still under the proverty level!

I just read an Facebook posting from a friend's sister with a diseased liver. She is 56 and on Medicare. She is not paying for her healthcare, nor, is she able to. I am paying $360/mn for my healthy 30 yo who smokes. He is currently one of those 33% working full time and making under min wage.

I had radiation for a skin cancer 5 years ago which cost around 50K. My insurance covered all but about 4K. It was something very minor! Still, that is about the cost of my last house.

Many of these are multimillion companies that are reducing the worker's hours so that they don't have to give them health insurance. They will be able to hire more people to make up for the lost hours but the employee will have to find another part time job to make up for the lost hours. I am sure the companies expenses are tax deductable.

So all have y'all have been bambozzled by these companies that it is Obama's fault that these people's hours have been cut and the upper eschelon is not at fault! Think of how having to pay for the insurance will cut into their multimillion dollar bonus!

The fact still remains that because I have insurance and I pay my bills, my costs are higher because of those who don't pay. You tell me, what is the answer?

Yes the average income family has lost $4500 income per year under Obama.

Insurance premiums have skyrocketed since he took office. Companies can't afford it now for their employees and it will put them out of business.

And it is totally Obama's doing.

I would love to know what the REAL unemployment rate is now that all these layoffs are taking effect. These companies warned they would have to do this but Obama just didn't care.
One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one.

Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway.

I will be boycotting all of these companies.

If they needed to fire or lay off some workers... they should have just did it instead of getting all political about it.

I will no longer support these companies that put profits over people only for political reasons.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24924490

How typically ignorant liberal. Boycott away. Boycott all you want. If it makes you "feel good" about your own, destructive, unsound politics.

These businesses aren't "getting all political about it"...they were holding on in the hopes that common sense, sanity, and fiscal responsiblity would prevail and Obama would be defeated.

It didn't happen.

Now the country is going to have to pay the steep price for your stupid politics.

Wow! AC....4490 is truly one of the clueless Kool Aid drinkers.

Your answer is exactly right. Those companies were hoping for and possibly expecting Romney's election and the repeal of the ObamaHealthTaxes. But then Obama stole the election crashing their hopes.

It is not Obamacare that is making these companies cut hours but their own greed and they want to put the blame somewhere. Every human has the right to be medically treated without the fear of dying because they couldn't afford a doctor. Obama got it right but the greedy say he got it wrong. I wish people would quit listening to the propaganda of big business and the insurance companies.

My idea is this: I work at a hospital. Most hospitals provide insurance for employees as well as give discounts. Why can't hospitals open up their insurance programs for the community?

Why should someone else be responsible for your health care needs?

My health insurance comes as a benefit of my hard work and education. You are hopelessly lost if you think working in a no skill/no education type of job should allow you the benefits of someone who actually studied and worked for the benefits they have you are hopelessly lost.

When I was a young guy my family was in the states visiting relatives, 1985. I needed a minor operation when I was there, for testicular torsion (really painful), result of a testicle anchoring wrong before birth. My family should have had travel insurance, we didn't. The wonderful doctors waived their fees because of the situation, which shows there are some great people in that profession. The hospital bill for less than a 13 hour stay was in the neighborhood of $5000 dollars, which was a huge burden to a working class family for years. This could happen to anyone, and insured or not someone has to pay these usurious fees. If it your insurer, your premiums will reflect this expense. It is the Medical Corporations who are doing this to the American public. How are these kids supposed to get through life, learn how to work hard, because you have to learn that, and educate themselves, when one accident could put them in debt for life? Being as hard nosed as you are could bite you in the ass man.

Companies do not have to reduce hours to 30 a week until the end of next year. The companies listed are the just the ones who have already announced the cuts. Most American businesses will run on part-time labor in 2014. Plan to live by third world standards, or plan on working two part-time jobs if you're lucky enough to get them.

I've had over $200,000 worth of back surgeries. I realized before those operations that it was important to get an education and find a job that may not pay as much as other jobs but would allow me to work my way up. I started as a temp and worked 3.5 yrs w/o the pay the other people I worked with made and absolutely zero benefits.

I could have said this is unfair and quit but I looked at it as an opportunity to show them that I could bring value to the company, keep my mouth shut about thinking I deserved the same treatment as others who had been there for much longer and had proven themselves already. It was up to me to prove myself.

I would love for everyone to have what they need. There is a way to do that but it's not by expecting someone else to provide it
