Calif: With jails jammed, state to drop some arrest warrants
So we (I am in Calif) just voted ourselves a tax increase, but we cannot keep the scum off the streets

[link to www.latimes.com]

"...The plan calls for parole agents to review about 7,000 warrants against low-level offenders to determine if those parolees have violent offenses or multiple felonies, belong to gangs or committed new crimes. Agents will then decide whether to drop the warrant and release the felon from parole.

"..."

"Those criticisms come as the corrections department reacted to a report in the Fresno Bee on Friday that the man who killed two people at a chicken processing plant in Fresno earlier this week, then killed himself, was released from parole over the objections of his parole agent. The gunman, Lawrence Jones, was freed from prison in June 2011 and discharged from parole in May, even though his parole agent deemed him a danger.

:spankyTAP:
political correctness is a doctrine.... fostered by a delusional, illogical minority...... and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media; which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

How about building more jails? Wouldn't that serve two purposes? It would keep criminals off the street and the construction of new jails would stimulate the economy. Duh?

A few years ago, they let millions out due to overcrowding. But don't worry. You don't need a gun to protect yourself and your family. The government will protect you

The guard union of California : CCPOA is always trying to scream the sky is falling. California is flat broke ,despite the mega tax increases. We can't afford to lock up everyone. This is long over due.

Put those prisoners to work in work camps...and introduce a simnple system to make sure that the prisoners work - you don't work, you don't eat

America has about 10 million useless eaters that could be productive inside a forced work camp. In fact that is excactly what FEMA camps are, they are work camps for Americans where Americans will voluntarily arrive at to be assigned work in exchange for food and shelter.

Here's a suggestion:

Drop the idiotic 'war on drugs' and stop persecuting people for harmless fucking crimes.

Yes, Rapists & Murderers should be in prison, BUT THAT'S ABOUT IT.

That would FREE up 75% of your prison population.

PERIOD.

How did they release a dead man from parole? People need to think about what they read!

BUT, NOTHING will happen to the ILLEGAL ALIENS ( Obammy IS ONE ), or the criminal parasitic politicians and bankers who live a HIGH LIFE by usury and FRAUD !

Aren't the 17,000,000 laws, rules, regulation, fees and statutes just wonderful, the way they apply to John Q. Public, but NOT to the above criminals ?

KEEP working, political, law abiding SLAVES !

Release the drug offenders first, from the lowest to the highest, if all jails are still jammed, kill the rapists and child molesters.

Get rid of victimless crimes. No room for pot dealers, hookers or anyone else who is in jail just because someone things its "immoral". Reserve prison for real crimes.

Calm before the storm....the criminal tyrranical governments always release the criminals prior to the takeover....it justifies the existence of policing authorities, soas to to clamp down upon society's law abiding people....just business as usual to me.

Interesting bunch, worth a look:
[link to ordinary-gentlemen.com]
"The growth of California’s incarceration system, and the decline of its quality, tracks the accession to power of the state’s prison guards union, the California Correctional Peace Officers Association (“CCPOA”). The CCPOA has played a significant role in advocating pro-incarceration policies and opposing pro-rehabilitative policies in California. In 1980, CCPOA’s 5,600 members earned about $21,000 a year and paid dues of about $35 a month. After the rapid expansion of the prison population beginning in the 1980s, CCPOA’s 33,000 members today earn approximately $73,000 and pay monthly dues of about $80. These dues raise approximately $23 million each year, of which the CCPOA allocates approximately $8 million to lobbying. As Ms. Petersilia explains, “The formula is simple: more prisoners lead to more prisons; more prisons require more guards; more guards means more dues-paying members and fund-raising capability; and fund-raising, of course, translates into political influence.”

So this is a union promoting itself?
Interesting way to do it. Make everyone into criminals, preserve job security.
Is this a correct assessment?
