No salt...lost an inch off waist in a week
Quit sugar three days ago and lost another inch. Cardio and weights included, but still.

Most improvement I've see in a year while working out 3 or 4 times a weeks. No joke.

Give the no salt thing a try....not joking. My core feels twice as strong too. No joke.

try Real Salt, it's got most of the trace minerals you need, you'll feel energized, not hungry all the time. It's not iodized so you'll have to supplement with iodine.

Unrelated, but I remember an article on natural news about negative calorie foods, check that out.

Thanks. I'll try. Carrots helped a lot too I think.

I'm sharing because I have struggles with this for a while and been in denial about how I can eat anything- which it turns out I can't anymore. Like magic, it started coming off. It was all the food the whole time. Oh, and no more eating (anything) before bed too....

Easy after I started

not trying to derail your thread, and I totally agree that people should get away from anything "bleached" especially salt. I'm sure you've heard that in ancient times that salt was worth it's weight in gold, there is a reason, it's vitally important. "Refined" salt is not the same as pure salt.

BECAUSE .... salt has a minor ingredient that FEW people know about; Magnesium, that is deliquescent ... i.e. an absorber of WATER !

As most fat pouches are KNOW to be about 90 % WATER, GUESS where and WHY you lost weight ???

So it wasn't "no salt", it was:

no salt
quit sugar
cardio
weights
potassium
bonanas and "whatnot"
carrots
no more eating (anything) before bed time

anything else?

You will die if you keep restricting your salt. Your body needs alot more salt...but ONLY sea salt! Mny athletes...including high school have been dropping-dead because they don't have enough salt in their system to replace the salt the sweat-out. You can't just drink water...sooner or later you will wash-put your body and you will have a heart-attack, if not die altogther! Here watch this MD that has written several books. One is "Dead Doctors Don't Lie!" and another is "Atheletes Don't Live Long" Here's a link to get familiar. Salt isextrememly important to your health...even the sancienats know this!

Yes, it is. It's exactly the same except removing random trace elements.
Sodium chloride is sodium chloride.
Refining doesn't change the chemistry.

Dead doctors such as Adkins and Wallack do lie. They are shills for the alternative health industry, as deadly as the white coats.

We get all the sodium we need from vegetable sources. Salting foods to taste is too much. Sodium is directly related to HBP.

We do not get minerals from salt, so real salt is of no use. It does not even come from the himalayas.

OFF topic but wow, You know what? I had a band when I was a youngster and we didn't have any more cassettes to tape and THAT DAY a cassette came in the mail...It was called "DEAD DOCTORS DON'T LIE". We taped over it and made a song with that same title. Until now, I haven't heard anyone say anything about it besides the people I know from those days.

I didn't say "no salt". Definitely done with junk food with too much salt.

The preservatives in those foods ARE salt...just like they used to make food "keep" in the old days. Too much is my point. Sorry if it was too vague.

Re: No salt...lost an inch off waist in a week
I totally believe you - I find that if I don't eat sugar, I don't wake up nearly as puffy the next day, especially around the eyes

Also, after reading a thread here, I think it was, about 6 months ago, I stopped using regular salt - I had been having terrible bloating that grew worse toward the end of the day - like I was 5 months pregnant, even though I am slender at 125 lbs and 5' 6". I also was having high blood pressure issues (I have a kidney problem, so, have to watch it). So, I began to use only pink Himalayan salt, Celtic Grey salt, and other types of natural salt (not the processed sea-salt from the store, either, just as bad as table salts). It makes a HUGE difference, also tastes very nice, and I don't get the high blood pressure, or the bloating. Now if only prepared, packaged, or canned foods didn't have the bad salt in them. I highly recommend the natural salt to anyone with high BP or wanting to lose the weight. I find it online, or at health foods stores.
