Look, here's the deal.

The attack in Benghazi on Chris Stevens was carried out by Qaddafi loyalists,known as the Green Resistance.

The Green Resistance is very active in Libya retaliating against what they see as agents of NATO and former Qaddafi gov. officials that crossed over to the NATO side. This goes largely unreported in the western press.

They had him in their sights for a long time,but as long as he stayed in Benghazi he was surrounded by what the US euphemistically refers to as Muslim fighters,Islamic Jihadists,armed rebels, etc.

In fact Benghazi is an Al-Qaeda strong hold and Ambassador Stevens was the their paymaster/liaison/coordinator since he arrived in Libya early in 2012 and all through the overthrow of Qaddafi.

The reason the Green Resistance was able to attack when they did had nothing to do with protesters of a video or the anniversary of 9/11, it was because approx. 600 Al-Qaeda fighters had just been transported from Benghazi to Turkey the week before and Ambassador Stevens was less protected than normal. That's why the Turkish General Consul was with Stevens in the hours before the attack, they were coordinating the care,feeding and arming of these fighters for their assaults on Syria from the Turkish border.

These Al-Qaeda fighters are an Islamic mercenary army in the employ,at varies points in time of NATO, British Intelligence, and the US via the CIA. They have been used in Afghanistan, Bosnia, Kosovo, Chechnya, Libya and currently Syria.
(Expect to see them next in Mali,South Sudan.)

Can you imagine the stink there would be if it was found out that Al-Qaeda, Americas Greatest Enemy, was in the employ of the US gov. and being used to topple regimes in the Middle East and Africa?

A lot of people in America would freak out.

This is the quandary that Obama is in,and what he desperately needs to have go away.

Expect a few more resignations in the near future.
