Exactly we've all been calling the story BS from the very beginning....

I do think its sad that we've reached a point where my friends talk about public affairs "crafting a narrative" -

Translation- pretty much everything the gov't tells you is, at least in part, make-believe...

If we never find out whether Jill was a real spy (or a volunteer spy) or an Arab double agent (real or volunteer)...

if we never find out the real reason this came out...(Party Politics, Cleaning House to implement some new nefarious plan (Afghanistan II)...or failed coup)

We know, without a doubt, that whatever the gov't is feeding us, if it deals with national security (and what doesn't) is a fantasy...

That would have been a totally shocking revelation 15 years ago...

This whole thing just keeps getting stranger. CIA director falls into a honeypot and exposes strange little Florida intelligence operation.

I went to law school with a number of officers who were JAG corp. bound. We studied many UCMJ cases... I also edited some professor's law review article on a UCMJ case...

While I loved law school, I hated practicing law...

So that's not what I do now...

The FBI is making a new push to determine how a woman who had an affair with retired Gen. David H. Petraeus when he was CIA director obtained classified files, part of an expanding series of investigations in a scandal that also threatens the career of the United States’ top military commander in Afghanistan.

Senior law enforcement officials said that a late-night seizure on Monday of boxes of material from the North Carolina home of Paula Broadwell, a Petraeus biographer whose affair with him led to his resignation last week, marks a renewed focus by investigators on sensitive material found in her possession.

“The issue of national security is still on the table,” one U.S. law enforcement official said. Both Petraeus and Broadwell have denied to investigators that he was the source of any classified information, officials said.

The surprise move by the FBI follows previous assertions by U.S. officials that the investigation had turned up no evidence of a security breach — a factor that was cited as a reason the Justice Department did not notify the White House before last week that the CIA director had been ensnared in an e-mail inquiry.

Last month, as the FBI was closing in on his affair with Paula Broadwell and the political fight over Benghazi was heating up, David Petraeus made an undisclosed trip to Tripoli, Libya. The purpose of the trip, according to congressional and U.S. officials, was to examine what remained of the CIA’s presence in the country after the United States abandoned the agency’s base and nearby U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi after the Sept. 11 assassination of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens.

More than two months after the Benghazi attack, congressional committees are asking for more information about the former CIA director’s trip. Sen. Saxby Chambliss, a Republican from Georgia and the vice chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, confirmed on Tuesday that the committee was seeking the report from Petraeus on his visit to Libya.

“Yeah, we will eventually get that,” Chambliss said after a hearing on Benghazi on Tuesday. Asked what he thought the committee might learn about Benghazi, he said, “I don’t know. That’s why we have to get the report.”...

Has anyone considered that the CIA might have been secretly holding the late Osama Bin Laden at this site and the attack was a rescue attempt? It would certainly explain the panic and cover-up. If the mistress accidentally or on purpose (she spent time in Israel)tipped off the Mossad and they decided to tip off the Libyans in order to influence the American election, I don't think it is unthinkable.

One small (maybe) piece of this story that bugs me is why was the FBI agent sending shirtless pics of himself to Jill Kelly? Was he undercover and trying to lure her in??

I'm tired of this soap opera already.

They defaulted on more credit cards and the lawsuits stacked up, but they continued to host parties and held tight to their friendship with Petraeus...

When Paula was writing her book, Petraeus would send his private jet to pick her up in the US & bring her to Afghanistan...

I can confirm (from other research) that all generals have their own jets...

I didn't know they could use them to pick up their mistresses...

There is also talk about the CENTCOM motorcades that took various Generals to the Scott's home for parties... 23 to 28 limos... Commenters are suggesting that that's bigger than "El Presidentes" before the uprising begins...

Fox has learned Petraeus will testify before House and Senate Intel Committees.

So Law School was it. I thought I recognized a familiar pattern. Unlike you I got out after a year and a half and did something far more rewarding in my estimation. Now back to the current issue. I am sure you are aware that Val Jarret was raised in Iran. The Kelly women in crisis struck Lebanon. As well as Broadwell speaking supposedly fluid Arabic. Too much of a coincidence to just be happenstance.

“I would not say that CIA has been taken over by the military, but I would say that the CIA has become more militarized,” Philip Giraldi, a retired career CIA case officer, told The Nation. “A considerable part of the CIA budget is now no longer spying; it’s supporting paramilitaries who work closely with JSOC to kill terrorists, and to run the drone program.” The CIA, he added, “is a killing machine now.”...

During Petraeus’s short tenure at the CIA, drone strikes conducted by the agency, sometimes in conjunction with JSOC, escalated dramatically in Yemen; in his first month in office, he oversaw a series of strikes that killed three US citizens, including 16-year-old Abdulrahman Awlaki. In some cases, such as the raid that killed Osama bin Laden in Pakistan, commandos from the elite JSOC operated under the auspices of the CIA, so that the mission could be kept secret if it went wrong.

One current State Department liaison who has also worked extensively with JSOC describes the CIA as becoming “a mini-Special Operations Command that purports to be an intelligence agency.” For all the praise Petraeus won for his counterinsurgency strategy and the “surge” in Iraq, he says, his real legacy is as a “political tool,” an enabler of those within the national security apparatus who want to see a continuation of covert global mini-wars....

The F.B.I. agent who helped start the investigation that led to the resignation of David H. Petraeus as C.I.A. director is a “hard-charging” veteran counterterrorism investigator who used his command of French in investigating the foiled “millennium” terrorist plot in 1999, colleagues said on Wednesday.

The agent, Frederick W. Humphries II, 47, took the initial complaint from Jill Kelley, the Tampa, Fla., hostess who was socially active in military circles there, about e-mails she found disturbing that accused her of inappropriately flirtatious behavior toward Mr. Petraeus...

Colleagues and news reports described the role of Mr. Humphries, in just his third year at the F.B.I., in building the case against Ahmed Ressam, who was detained as he tried to enter the United States from Canada in 1999 with a plan to set off a bomb at Los Angeles International Airport.

In May 2010, after he had moved to the Tampa field office, Mr. Humphries was attacked outside the gate of MacDill Air Force Base by a disturbed knife-wielding man. He fatally shot the man, and the shooting was later ruled to be an appropriate use of force, according to bureau records and colleagues.

Two former law enforcement colleagues said Mr. Humphries was a solid agent with experience in counterterrorism, conservative political views and a reputation for aggressiveness.

Jill's brother-in-law is intelligence contractor...

Jill was party planner for Coalition Village - Arab Officers assigned to CENTCOM JSOC (joint special operations command)...

She was an intelligence asset...

BUT -

Jill has serious financial issues (she & her husband can't even pay off their credit cards).
