Sea Level Rise Accelerating For US East Coast, Fastest Rise in The World! | |

But the ocean, unbound by legislation, is rising anyway — and in North Carolina this rise is accelerating, researchers reported here yesterday (Nov. 6) at the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America. Quoting: Rain-Man On the coast of North Carolina and at other so-called "hotspots" along the U.S. East Coast, sea levels are rising about three times more quickly on average than they are globally, researchers reported during a session devoted to sea level rise. That's the fastest rise in the world. [link to www.livescience.com] If that is true it means that the east coast is sinking rather than the sea is rising. Think about it. |

Model estimates of sea-level change due to anthropogenic impacts on terrestrial water storage [link to www.nature.com] [snip] We find that, together, unsustainable groundwater use, artificial reservoir water impoundment, climate-driven changes in terrestrial water storage and the loss of water from closed basins have contributed a sea-level rise of about 0.77 mm yr between 1961 and 2003, about 42% of the observed sea-level rise. We note that, of these components, the unsustainable use of groundwater represents the largest contribution. |

Each time, he said, the federal government has stepped in and paid to rebuild the island's infrastructure. "That's crazy," Young said. Good post my friend! Sea level is highly variable over time and from place to place. There will always be alarmists and opportunists who take advantage of ignorance among the people. |

Shortly after the Gulf of Mexico oil disaster, there were maps showing how the gulf stream was being adversely affected. Apparently the corexit and/or the oil caused it to sink quite a bit in many areas and it was predicted that the sinking would spread to the eastern part of the North Atlantic Ocean. What is happening to currents in other areas? Is this true? I saw a British article that refuted this. Can you give me a good link to a study regarding the change in the gulf stream. The information is out there for an inquisitive mind. The earth is a rough old thing.. not smooth and round like a marble. Weight distribution and mass are not equal throughout. Spins.. wobbles a little, moon grabs a little.. Warm water is bigger than cold water. Lots of factors to consider. The tugs and pushes on the oceans are variable. |

(Probably not but that's what I imagined happens.) No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome. |

City people might move inland or get a bit wet. Most large cities are on the ocean and need a good cleaning. I read about this 35 years ago, its the Mother Earth moving to a higher dimension so there needs to be so adjustments. The Mother has invited all the Hue Mans to come along or move to another planet if they don't like it here. Change is the only constant. People on the east coast might be more stubborn than others so they are getting the water treatment first? |
