The "adjustment" will be a good thing...people who live in the rural areas will be fine; those who live in the cities? No so good...initially, riots; and then: property and violent crimes. Those who recieve welfare will not have the financial means to venture out into the rural areas to plunder....as such, the military will move in and detain the parasites; then, transport them to the neighborhood concentration camp to provide basic needs and security until and unless the dollar is restored (gold/silver standard)...
