This was really weird. I know it was real due to the fact that all the neighbors were out looking for it also. It was the same noise that some have recorded and uploaded to UTUBE from around the world. It is weird that no one knows what it is.

I heard it on the west coast of canada...in the evening opened my window for some fresh air and the sky was clear (no clouds) and I heard what sounded to me like jet engines rumbling above me...stopped not a moving sound.

I think I just heard something similar to what you described. Dog went nuts, I'm in Cape Coral! This was about 5 min ago.

Flagler county 3 hours east of you, was quiet.

We believe that holes / vortices are opening up in the sky when this happens.

Sounded like a jet hoovering and lasted for like 15 seconds but there was no jet!

I was there today - the F18 was siiiiiiiick!

They flew a C-130 too - first time I got to see one in flight!

Same thing happened in Guelph, Ontario last night about 9:20 pm. It was so loud that my son and I ran out to the front porch to see what was going on. It was dark with overcast so we couldn't see anything but the noise was deafening. Sounded like a fleet of jets stuck in mid-air for the longest time. This has happened before.

Then I read today of numerous similar incidents in other places last night as well. I'll keep my video camera handy and at least try to record the audio it next time.

Same here. In Miami and had the exact se thing. Jet engine like sound that lasted about 10-20seconds and sounded as of it was just above the house. The difference is that it clearly was not exactly like a jet engine because it sounded like it was not moving like a plane would meaning the sound was far away then getting closer and then pulling away. It was just there and then it wasn't, clearly not a plane and no storm overhead, so who knows.

We are just lucky that they didn't see a squirrel. They'd be going nuts.

Why would you want to keep people from listening to the video. Excuse me but its now night time and no airshow. People go to the thread. Strange metallic sounds coming from the sky in Russia and listen to it. Then say if it sounded like the noise you heard. Pretty simple shit.

About 10:30 PM on Friday Nov 9th 2012. Heard loud noise coming from the sky which sounded like jet engines that were hovering above us. The sound would last for about 20 seconds and then stop and then start again. This lasted for about 10 minutes and everyone walked outside and began to look up- but nothing visable. Any ideas????

I would like to say:

The same thing happened to me and I am over in Tampa!!! MY whole street came running out thinking some punk kids were messing with a boat or motorcycle but no, the street and the sky were clear.
The next day at work, I asked around to people from all different areas that heard the same thing. Most said they looked it up and it usually happens after 10:00 p.m. on Saturday nights. (When I heard it.) I really, really want to know what it is. Please help.
