As someone who had just cut his hair short. 1) It's to get a professional job (in my case, a damn good internship) and 2) because of the chicks.

I had longer hair. It was very wavy but it was during my goth days. Then I got into a glam phase, so I would have that flatironed scenester look. Eventually I just had to cut it. Shorter hair was the definite route.

I actually blame the short hair return on Twilight New Moon. Ever since Taylor Lautner's character went from long hair, to short hair. A lot of younger girls ate that up. So, a lot of dudes have done it. Plus, the whole "fitness" attitude really has come to a rise so everyone has to work out and look like a cage fighter.

I dont think ive seen any young guys pulling off what was common in the 70s

I started growing my hair out about 18 months ago. Didn't really feel like going to get it cut and my dad grows his out for Locks of Love, which I thought was a pretty good idea. Not to mention its nice when its cold out. I have to keep a clean shaved face though for work so can't get the full effect, lol.

I remember in high school though that the other boys were criticized if they let it go too long. This was the early to mid 00's so definitely some recent cultural impacts going on there.

And no way am I going near the subject of body hair removal. Last time I tried that it took me a month to get rid of the wet dog smell the Nair left behind in my nose. I got a carte blanche "Automatic Argument Win" out of that with multiple stamps between me and the GF at the time in the end so...guess it wasn't so bad.

haven't cut my hair since 2005. cut it to go before the judge to get custody of my kids and swore i wouldn't cut it again until my kids were grown. i guess we all have our reasons...

i think our society is open minded enough to pull of a nicely styled/cut longer hair style and still maintain a professional look.

I'm 38 and have my hair past chin length. Almost to my shoulders. And it's thick. It pisses dudes off something fierce. It makes them aggressive. Luckily I'm 6'3" and could hold my own in a UFC match.

Also, per the lady above, I prefer my wife keep her kitty shaved bald. Infact she gets laser treatment to keep it that way. It's not pedo at all. It makes things much more enjoyable when I'm down there for an hour getting all the nooks and crannies making her come her ass off.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but short hair on men has been common, especially in European culture, during most of history, with a few exceptions (wigs), the mid 19th century and perhaps the 60's and 70's.

you know, i was widowed a couple years ago. lost my husband way too early - he was only 43. i think i am finally ready to date. nothing serious or meaningless either. just would like to step out a bit and have a bit of romance? not sure, but maybe.

can't seem to find anyone that seems interesting to me.
