I had a similar sighting about a month ago...I, too, pulled over and took some pics with my cell phone. Showed them to my husband and son and they looked at me like I was crazy...

Same type deal - there were two very bright sunny areas of the sky...Some kind of reflection???

I cant get impressed by that until i see it without the trees and clouds. I have seen a setting sun light up far away clouds spectacularly!

I work outdoors on one of my 3 jobs and have never seen a sundog from that angle. Only just before/after noon so 11am/1pm time frame with the right conditions and easier to see with sunglasses.

I find it hard to believe that it is a sundog. It's pretty far away and apparently in a woody area in the middle of sunset. There's no rainbow, no arc, and lots of trees around. I dunno. I think it's something but not a sundog.

I saw this too a week ago! i stared at it and it disappeared 5 minutes later

Nice find OP. I keep staring in the skies hoping to catch me one of these but they are very hard to come by. But i guess if your area is seeing NIBS your area is in some deep doo doo.

Go to 0:55 to 1:38 and look at the light source at the bottom.

This is weird.

They are pretty far apart too. Maybe 40 degrees? Maybe it's some sort of atmospheric condition that causes this, but who knows.

Yeah, I don't think I would buy the "sundog" accusation for this. I'm sure that does occur sometimes, but lately there are way too many sundog reports and some just don't pass muster to qualify as sundogs. Da times dey getting weird my friend.

It's just a dimensional bleed-thru. We see them all the time here in TN.

I have seen this same effect four times since spring, I saw one three days ago, it's pretty strange, I don't know what to think of it!
