EQ? Gas Explosion?? Something Just Shook Houses In Indianapolis!

Where has the people gone from the 200 bused people? Has any of those people that where first on scene spoken out about what they thought or saw? Where are they?

Saw an article early Sunday morning about possibility of copper thrives having stripped the house of the copper. Which is a normal occurance. But strange in lieu of the timeline of events.. the house was occupied only a week ago, before aforementioned family went to hotel. The house was reportedly for sale, but accounts differ. This new comment about the furnace is also peculiar. I worked renovating forclosed homes for a bank in Texas and if there was a problem with the furnace it would have been handled correctly the first time in light of future law suits. Now in a post from this thread, the owner of the house is directly stated as saying that the furnace problem was cleared up. I'm going to say a furnace blast is also unlikely because of the chain of events. 'Secondary blast heard' damages at a far distance. None of this adds up, it stinks.

I saw somewhere yesterday that all but about 15 people had been picked up by friends or family and that the Red Cross was setting the rest up in one of the local churches. Then yesterday some of the residents were allowed to go home and collect a few belongings but were not allowed to stay.

Not sure what I think about these random gas leak claims. It could be due to people being on edge. I know I would be.

I still think it's a weird picture placed in with all the disaster scene pictures. I do think it is a car hood or windshield as the debris seems to have a bit of a reflection in some spots.

It's *probably* just some weird sticker someone bought at the Walmart and slapped on their car, BUT something seems very off about it. I flipped through that slideshow on WishTV a couple of times before I even noticed the image in the picture so even though it seems really obvious to us now, I bet average folks flipping through didn't catch it as on first glimpse it looks like a sky shot of debris falling.

The mysterious inclusion in the slideshow towards it being a "tag" or whatever you guys were saying is the code for someone leaving a message. But who? And what message? And why?

Anyway, I hope we can find it if only so we can rule it out as being a weird loose end!

FWIW I listened to the scanner all night again last night and the number of calls for "difficulty breathing" and "unconscious person" and "heart problems", etc. was significantly lower than it was the first night. But perhaps some of it had to do with it being Saturday night on the first night? Well, I'm more hoping because I live right over here and don't want it to be a scary answer I guess.

a lot of people here in franklin township are on edge, we just aren't buying the random gas leak story so our minds are going all over the place...it was unseansonally warm here in indy the days before the explosion so i'm not sure why the family with the faulty furnace would go to a hotel? as soon as the explosion went off, i logged into the channel 13 facebook page to see if anyone knew what was going on, and someone posted that they were in st. francis hospital at the time and moments later a police officer ran in stating there was a plane crash, to expect mass casualities...maybe i can scroll thru all the comments from that night and take a screen shot, i wish i had when all this was going down....i didn't know what was happening at the time...it was pretty scary.

and as stated above by OP. Some not allowed back, but were allowed in, with escorts to gather personal belongings..forgot to add that

I've been watching this thread since last night. I live at most 2 miles from the site and my entire house shook, my dog barked, my sisters bed upstairs shook as well. I was assured it was a bomb. My head felt really weird...My sisters fiancée went outside with his gun because we assumed one of the neighbor kids set off some pipe bomb or something. All the neighbors were outside looking around, we saw nothing.
I have so many questions that won't ever be answered by the officials...

LadyLucy - I am also in Franklin Township and I also heard several early reports just after it happened from friends and family calling around that a plane had crashed and even on page one of this thread someone reported that and had the location correct. That was before we knew where it had happened. Could be that people were assuming based on the explosion and the small airport over there - that's kind of what I think anyway. It would seem somewhat logical at first and an easy assumption to make.

Over here in my neighborhood we all thought it was an earthquake. There doesn't seem to be any eye witnesses to seeing an actual plane (or drone) to my knowledge either. Early that first night people were also saying there were explosions downtown but I never heard anything else about that and figured it was just that they had heard the southside explosion.

Who knows?? I wish we did! I feel a little more settled today but have been on edge thinking we might need to get out of Dodge. I've been really following the Sinkhole stuff though and my early concern was that this was related to that. I'm still not ready to write that possibility off.

i'm over on thompson and arlington by the family video...it felt as a bomb had gone off right next door....i think it's a little strange how quickly they got old ballard out of bed and on live TV, i stayed glued to the television during the live coverage until they went to infomercials at 2am and they just kept insisting it was a gas explosion. i dont' know what to think...the only good thing about a sink hole would be if it swollowed up that million dollar football stadium the high school sunk all their money into, hahahaha, seriously though. franklin township is going thru some stuff right now...

they just posted this ‎Nicole Pence has a compelling story at 5PM with a man who talked to Dion Longworth after the explosion. Dion survived initially, but was unable to escape his home. Eyewitness News has the latest on the south side explosion starting at 5PM.

BAE Systems to Test UAS in Indiana

Indiana’s National Center for Complex Operation announced that it is pairing up with its first customer, BAE Systems. The company says it intends to use Indiana airspace to test the unmanned aircraft it produces. It will also use the state’s academic resources to create safety plans for its equipment.

Oh, WOW!

The Associated Press reports the owner of the house that blew up says a faulty furnace may be to blame. Also, the NTSB has joined the search for the cause of the explosion.

However, at a news conference Monday afternoon, a spokesperson for Citizens Energy said the utility never received a call about a faulty furnace from the home in question.

I'm not buying the gas leak theory. That's a fairly new neighborhood... so decaying infrastructure shouldn't be on the list of possibilities... as suggested in an article I read earlier today that was written yesterday. If it were a gas refinery... yes... but not in a residential area. This was either a bomb or a meteorite that came straight in. JMO.

Why would they call in the NTSB?
