EQ? Gas Explosion?? Something Just Shook Houses In Indianapolis!

The question is where would gas leak from. For those who don't know its been determined that there are no gas lines in the neighborhood. At least thats the last I had heard, I could be behind.

So is it only 2 deaths then? It could have been so much worse looking at the pictures so I'm glad it's "just" the two, but that sounds so wrong to say. I hope you understand what I mean though.

They used a wedding picture of the deceased school teacher and her husband and it's so sad. Young couple, lives ahead of them and all that. Very sad.

I guess it is better this didn't happen on a weeknight when everyone would have been home for sure.

It also says some pets are on the loose over there. Hopefully, since they've allowed some residents to gather belongings they'll be able to round up the scared pets while they're there.

And, I want to say, I'm not an Indiana native - I've lived here for 10+ years and consider myself an honorary Hoosier by now, but I wanted to say - these Indiana folks - when something terrible happens they really spring into action to help each other out. I think of the State Fair collapse and the pictures of the fairgoers running TO the disaster and not from it and trying to lift the scaffolding with their bare hands. And now this says there were many off-duty police and fire that showed up in shorts and sneakers after hearing the explosion and just jumping in their cars and heading over and other neighbors rushing out of their homes to rescue people. And , very quickly last night the locals almost immediately brought supplies to the fire stations. It's a wonderful place to live and I'm very touched by the actions of the good people of Indiana.

I saw those posts but determined them to be of dubious origin. Obviously everyone can make their own mind up. The only official statement to my knowledge is that "gas was switched off to the area after the event".

Sure feels like a "replay" of that incident !!! VERY similar circumstances.

The poster with the "no gas lines" find during the night came back moments after posting that with another link indicating that there was at least one home in the neighborhood with a gas fireplace which would seem to indicate there is gas in the neighborhood at least to some degree. This seems to be true as the gas company guy was shown waiting outside the perimeter to further check on things but hadn't been allowed to the actual scene yet (from earlier in the day, may have changed now).

In looking at the aerial photos, does anyone here see where 80 homes are damaged/destroyed?!

Imo, this is related to the "bunker" explosion in Minden, LA and other minor events . . . a series of meteorites are hitting earth as precursor to "deep impact".

Been reading this thread since last night and it really spooked me. Okay even if we set aside whoo hoo stuff like Ufos or the beginnings of ELE meteor showers...this whole event is so puzzling. So many weird first responder inconsistencies with how this was handled. ..from DHS first on scene...to radio scanner code words and coverup/switching channels. I was an Insurance claims adjuster and the cops don't care if you are listening and catch their codes for fatalities...Independent claims adjuster rely on this...being the first on scene to take photos is their bread and butter...you sell those (for big bucks) to the attorneys representing the fatalities. Yes, its ambulance chasing and despicable but it happens.

So here is the one thing I can't wrap my head around...and it is really clear in the pictures of the first responders on the scene at night fighting the fires...ok here is my question....If they were responding to a possible natural gas or methane gas explosion why oh why are none of the firefighters wearing their breathing masks?

Was looking around for all the information I could find on this explosion and came across this site. One of the poster's there has on site source's of this explosion. Just started posting a few things, so not a lot there yet.

But maybe worth checking? I don't know.

Methane isn't toxic.

Google (nearly) any known gas explosion and look at photos of fire responders and you will see the same.

I am the OP and local here - I did not hear any build up or roaring sound and thus far no one I've talked to that also felt/heard it has said anything like that. Not to say it isn't true, just that I can't substantiate it personally.

And, if it helps, my dogs were all resting around me and they did not act strange or alert in anyway until the intial BIG JOLT and single BOOM occurred in which I thought a car had surely crashed into the house and then we all jumped at the same time. I know that sometimes dogs seem to sense EQ or similar phenomena so thought I'd mention.

So until natural gas and methane is ruled out, it is against protocol for first responders to disregard this uncertainty...unless they knew what caused it.

I don't have to resort to Google, I have unique personal experience that pertains to this particular type of situation. I have investigated countless residential fires and explosions for fraud and while I reserve judgement on what may have caused the damage (because first responders mayhave contributed certain damages while searching for survivors) I will say this still looks unusual.

isnt it odd that theres nothing left from the homes that blew up? fridge,washer dryer,funace,prob a ridin mower, hot water tank the kinda stuff thats left after a fire? just a thought

Sure, right, of course. Numerous reports of fireballs, unusual flashes of light that cover the whole sky, loud booms, houses shaking, strange cloud formations etc., etc.. Nothing here.

This is exactly what I am referring to, the damage and blast patterns are very unusual for a natural gas explosion.

One of the very first things people around here were saying last night was that a plane had crashed. There is a very small air field fairly close to the house explosion. Keep in mind, it's really an air "field" with very small planes only, not a major airport. BUT, then the Mayor apparently appeared at the explosion neighborhood and dismissed it saying "nope, wasn't a plane" and then I didn't see much about it again. It would have to have been a small one though to be something related to the tiny airport over there.

We are talking about firefighters seen standing out in the street. Displacing oxygen is not a relevance.

I went and looked at the large farm building in my area that was blown for over half a mile. The heavy farm equipment that was below about 3 feet in height was in the general spot it was before. Even the posts in the ground were severed at the same height all the way around...about 3 feet. I do not understand how this happens but I witnessed it.
There really should have been things strewn about or still on site after this explosion last night.

It looks like the two houses in the middle were mostly instantly vaporized which wouldn't happen even if just one of them had a gas leak explosion.

Not sure, but the two victims were a married couple and she was a second grade teacher. It does not say yet what he did, that I know of.

As for the rest of the neighborhood I don't know. It's not a super rich neighborhood, but a very nice middle class one, perhaps slightly upscale compared to other nearby neighborhoods but not by a large scale. This is really just regular old suburbia over here where this happened.

This is exactly what I am wondering about these mysterious home "explosions" that have been happening now for a number of years and yes the authorities claim that they are just gas explosions. Now do any of you recall how absolutely "safe" the entire gas system is "claimed" to be by the gas companies when they appear before town governements and planning boards when they are trying to get into a town in the first place? Heck they all but come out and say shit like this is "impossible". So which side of their asses are they talking out of now? Is this what they call SAFE? As we all THAT stupid?
