Mullein tea with honey. I usually mix the mullein with peppermint to improve the taste. You can find mullein in a health food store.

Avoid dairy, sugar & "doughy" products like the plague - they create phlegm and stagnation in the chest. Cover your nose with a scarf to keep cold air out and keep your neck covered as well.

and yea any type of sugar drink makes it worse.

what about things to eat? all I've been eating is chicken soup for 3 days.

Ginger root. If you have a juice extractor put just a little on the bottom of a coffee cup and make any type of tea you choose. Add honey if you want it sweeter. If you don't have a juice extractor then you can peel and grate it in the water you are making the tea with.

What kind of chicken soup?

Do you have any stomach issues? Heartburn, gastritis, Gerd?

nope just cant breathe at time and my chest/ribs have pains from time to time.I was already at a doctor and he couldn't give me anything. said it will only take time to heal.

I use alot of herbs in mine and egg noodles.

It is said that raisins eases coughs.

my sinuses are stuffed up every day. I was fine over the summer and early fall.

If you're having trouble breathing, you might need an inhaler. Did you tell your Dr. about the breathing?
You have asthma or COPD?

Bronchitis can sure wear you out. Some suggestions you might want to try....after checking to make sure they won't conflict with any other meds you're taking, are Mucinex D,
Celestial Seasonings Echinacea wellness tea with a spoonful of honey, and/or a menthol patch.

If your cough is bad, a cough syrup with guaifenesin in it might help. Vicks vapo rub put on the bottom of your feet and covered with socks will help the night cough.

Need lots of fluids, water, ginger ale, and tea. Applesauce and chicken noodle soup with lots of fresh garlic, chopped onion, celery, and a sprinkle of hot pepper.

Rest will help and if it doesn't get better, tell your Dr. They don't usually give antibiotics for viral bronchitis, but there are anti virals, and you don't want to end up with pneumonia.

Maybe try some hot spicy chili. Various type of hot pepppers have been used for bronchial issues.

I like catnip tea or tulsi tea with a dash of nutmeg and cinnamon. so soothing at least to me. honey helps too.

There are many types of inhalers. If yours didn't work and you need one, you might have to try several. Steroids work well, but are far riskier. Bet your Dr. could help you find one that works. Make sure you tell him/her that yours didn't work.

Go to the ER and see if they will prescribe antibiotics ....a lot of Dr's give antibiotics for bronchitis, and if you can't breathe and your chest hurts, it sounds like pneumonia, even if you don't have a fever ....it happened to me last June, no fever, sent home on steroids and nebulizer tx , ended up in the hospital with pneumonia in both lungs, still recovering after all those months !

I have bronchitis now. Dr gave me antibiotic and antiviiral and inhaler. The teas worked better. I'll bring it up the next time I see him.
