GeordieLegend User ID: 4912635 Netherlands 12/06/2012 01:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | MY 94-year-old grandma is always reminding people that she is a great, great, great grandmother. Anonymous Coward User ID: 29172235 United States 12/06/2012 01:56 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Introduce your grandmother to this grandmother: [link to www.letfreedomgrow.com] If your granny is my age, then her friend may have gotten pot with paraquat on it, it was very common in the 1970's because the US government was spraying it on weed to kill stoners...I mean to eradicate weed The govenment says its fine, of course: [link to www.nytimes.com] "The impact statement was completed in July 1985 and found that ''there is a slight risk that heavy smokers of marijuana could be affected by paraquat-sprayed marijuana.'' The document also opened the way for use of glyphosate and 2,4-D. Glyphosate, a weedkiller like paraquat, was first used in September 1985. Paraquat, which is used in agriculture to clear fields before planting and after harvest, is an acid that can produce severe lung damage in humans if ingested. The Government contends that while paraquat is dangerous in a concentrated form, once it is sprayed it becomes ''biologically inactive.'' [link to www.nlm.nih.gov] "Paraquat (dipyridylium) is a highly toxic weed killer once promoted by the United States for use in Mexico to destroy marijuana plants. Research found that this herbicide was dangerous to workers who applied it to the plants." |
