Quoting: Laura Bow [link to makingchangeatwalmart.org] So they are offering a $50 gift card for going on strike? How old is the cute puppy? TY! That's the kind of dog I breed, I think he was 3 1/2 months at the time. Last Edited by Laura Bow on 11/11/2012 11:42 AM |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 27488535 11/11/2012 11:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have to wish them luck simply because I think Black Friday is disgusting. Never participated in it, never will. Quoting: Guenwyfar I agree terrible display of greed and a mockery to a "holy-day". Thanksgiving is not really a HOLY DAY..and black Friday is far from Holy. But you certainly can find some good deals on Black Friday to give for presents. I do the black Friday shopping..and No I'm not a low income person just a person who shops for deals for christmas presents. If you dont then thats your deal, but if you want great deals that is the day to shop. I like to give my family and friends nice gifts, not cheap crap. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 1383264 11/11/2012 12:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | These Walmart workers need to learn from my 21 year old son. He was hired by Walmart this fall in his college town - asked to work up to 20 hours a week max. He is reliable, on time and a good kid. Then they started scheduling him 30 hours a week. When he went in to discuss this and ask for 20 hours a week he was told, "I used to work during college - you're just going to have to figure it out." He muttered under his breath, "I'll figure it out all right..." She wouldn't budge so my son was pro-active and looked for other jobs. Both places he applied at wanted to hire him and they paid more money. They treat their employees badly. Just look for something else. I worked retail for many years and even was a business owner for several years...get out of it. Retail is horrible now. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 1431957 11/11/2012 12:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I work for a bank. They don't want to hire any help, so we find as many ways to lie to our customers so they don't find out how short handed we are. They force us to work hours and hours of overtime. I'm working 50 hours a week at this point. It's total BS how they want to treat us because they don't want to shrink their bloated paychecks and give us a decent wage, a decent place to work, and enough employees to do the job RIGHT for the customers...who deserve the product they were SOLD. |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 27041005 11/11/2012 12:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is being organized by unions. Walmart is not a union company. This is the same dumb thinking that has brought you obama (vile deceiver). People should not put themselves at risk for illegal union activity. The unions want the dues and power that would come from unionizing Walmart, they could care less about thanksgiving or their employees. |

We had to be on time & EVERYONE had to work that Friday or else they were fired. Quoting: mopar28m They need to go back to closed on Thanksgiving. Give the workers time with their families. you are talking about the old united states, in this new progressive one, most don't even know what thanksgiving is and would prefer to celebrate mayday or cinco de mayo. this isn't your grandpa's america anymore... who's happy now? I like the new America much better. The old one was really lame. I would never work at Wal Mart however, life is much too short for that crap. If you like this new America better than the old America then you must not know much about the old one or that frontal lobotomy really took hold and you're a drooling cabbage. lolol, very good. I have no representation in this country. I have no voice, and now I am not even allowed to have an opinion without fear of the IRS. So why am I still taxed? ![]() |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 25439775 11/11/2012 12:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Walmart has already found a "workaround" to any potential striking that may take place on Black Friday. They announced a couple days ago that their "Black Friday" sales now start on Thanksgiving Day at 8 PM. So much for families spending Thanksgiving together. |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 21211135 11/11/2012 12:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Can you imagine the $$$ Walmart will lose if they can't have their annual post thanksgiving bloodbath? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10783814 Don't see it happening. Has to be cheaper than agreeing to full time employment for all of their stores. This will force them to provide health insurance or pay fine in 2013. Can't see them striking for less than full time hours and health insurance. Even though the video only mentioned being treated with respect as main issue. Most WM employees are full time and do get insurance. These folks are just stupid. If they are not full time, its because they either didnt want it, or just arent good employees. If they strike they will get fired. Some WM employees make some pretty good bank I know a deli worker who makes over 20 dollars an hr. They have jobs they should be thankful. "make pretty good bank" ![]() Holy shit, you're a fucking moron. Nobody should read any of your posts anymore. |

| davvi User ID: 3677166 11/11/2012 12:33 PM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Walmart has wrecked too many small towns and small businesses. Replaced decent American made goods with Chinese crap and tossed people out of decent local jobs. Quoting: Fred 26677941 yea, but it is for the consumer to decide not to buy there. attempting to unionize it will only create more money for unions, drive the prices up for the chinese crap they sell and still the mom and pop stores will be out of business. Quoting: Laura Bow [link to makingchangeatwalmart.org] So they are offering a $50 gift card for going on strike? Supporters can also sponsor a striking worker, who may be losing wages in order to strike, by donating grocery gift cards. The campaign has raised more than $13,500 worth of donations toward grocery gift cards since Oct. 15 -- a figure that doesn't include significant funds raised through mailed-in checks, Jamie Way, of the UFCW, told HuffPost. Quoting: from lineTHAT is awesome! I don't want to go on a full rant, I'll just keep it short and say that I hate Walmart. — read for knowledge, not answers. |

Support local shops & small American businesses. I agree with the other poster who stated that black Friday shopping is a disgusting display. What is the over / under on the number of mouth breathing morons who trample or kill each other to save a dollar. MSM waits breathlessly to show brutal, violent footage of those black Friday sheep. |

But I have noticed stuff no matter what it is from China smells a bit odd. I always wonder if there is some vapor or something coming off things from China that is poisoning me. |
