Walmart Workers to Strike on Black Friday | |

Support local shops & small American businesses. I agree with the other poster who stated that black Friday shopping is a disgusting display. What is the over / under on the number of mouth breathing morons who trample or kill each other to save a dollar. MSM waits breathlessly to show brutal, violent footage of those black Friday sheep. I admit that I go maybe twice a year. Sundry type stuff; shampoo, soap etc. Some of those Black Friday shoppers are frickin' nuts. I wonder if Walmart would just have to close if all their staff went on strike for Black Friday? I can't see them being able to handle the crowds. Or maybe they'll just bring in some (more) militarized police in riot gear? — read for knowledge, not answers. |

You try riding the waves of mergers and buyouts asshole. It ain't easy. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1431957 Of all entities, banks should be ashamed of themselves for low balling their employees and treating them like rubbish. It's just plain mean spirited. |

He'd declare Walmart protected and threaten to fire any employee who did not report for work on Black Friday just line he did with the air traffic controllers and PATCO, that's what a real president would do... Taking shit from little people, why the fuck are we elites then? |

How simple it would be IF managers first OFFERED overtime. There are those who would jump at any overtime, whereas there are those with family obligations in which it might pose a hardship. If a manager had a pea-sized brain why not just post what extra shifts need covered, let the employees sign up for any ones they want to do, and then lower seniority to assign what wasn't filled. When I was a single mother, I would get a sitter and take ALL the overtime I could. Now as a senior I value more holidays with my family. As one whose dad died New years day, yet he was the one who went All out for every holiday "as if it was the last one" our needs and values change. Overtime and holiday pay should always be first voluntary. You'd have happier more productive employees who have respect for their manager. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 1093381 11/11/2012 01:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Everyone is too greedy and materialistic. If the sheeple stop their massive binging on junk food and junk goods, stores like Walmart won't have as much reason for being open long hours and making their employees work right before and after a holiday. But then the economy will tank even further. We're screwed coming and going. But stupid greed, especially from libtards who've believed poor folk had a legal right to get mortgages for houses they couldn't afford, is what got things headed in the wrong direction in the first place. |

Now I think employee are threatened to work 40hrs but get paid for only 30hrs just to keep their job. Some people here at GLP claim that to be true. So overtime is not an option. |

People are deciding to not even buy anything at Christmas or make any purchases of goods beyong food and fuel in the coming year as a form of protest. I read many companies are doing this too as far as buying equipment or upgrading anything. This will get crazy! I wonder if prices for cool stuff will hit bottom if fewer are buying? I likes stuff! It represents the obelisk in the circle, as seen from above, just like the obelisk that you find in cities, is often surrounded by a circle, like St. Peter's and the Vatican. |

They don't want to hire any help, so we find as many ways to lie to our customers so they don't find out how short handed we are. They force us to work hours and hours of overtime. I'm working 50 hours a week at this point. It's total BS how they want to treat us because they don't want to shrink their bloated paychecks and give us a decent wage, a decent place to work, and enough employees to do the job RIGHT for the customers...who deserve the product they were SOLD. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1431957 how stupid, if i worked for a company who treated me badly i would quit. please notice whining was not my first option? no one is forcing you to work there and no one owes you anything. whining, "wah, wah, wah, i need a union... because i am so fucking useless on my own." What do you think I've been doing!?? I've been looking for another job. Nitwit. you are looking for another job? a union job where you widdle rights are pwotected? lol. Just telling it like it is. Apple is guilty of all the same things and they overcharge for their products too boot because people are too brainwashed by image to see through to the core truth. Apple and Wal-Mart have the same business practices. I see this go on again and again and I will call people out on it every time no matter how much they hate me for it. Stop being brainwashed sheep and you don't need to be called out. :) On another note, Wal-Mart opens now at 8PM thanksgiving day, it's thanksgiving day they need to strike, not Friday. Then it will be madness. :) Getting everything ready and coordinating the open of the deals is the hard part. The busy time will be Thanksgiving evening, 8PM through midnight, and all the setup and preparation done during the day. That's when the strike needs to be. Wallyworld will now just hire a bunch of temps to fill positions for Black Friday. It wouldn't surprise me if all employees that strike are fired and replaced since these jobs don't require much skill. |

He's claiming if they're not getting mortgages it's because of racism. This is still going on. At this very moment. A few years following the meltdown of the banking industry.
