If I saw one of those petitions that had signatures of only people in that state then I would consider it as valid. I have checked out a couple of these petitions and people from all over are signing them. My state turned 'blue' this election, yet there is a petition to cede from the union. It is not that easy to leave the union. If you want to leave the union, I would start a grass roots group, starting finding like minded in your area. Also, find a constitutional scholar, you will need one to advise you. |

Though I have to say I found it interesting when voting this year PROP 120 was on the ballot. Proposition 120 would have amended the state Constitution to read, “Arizona declares its sovereign and exclusive authority and jurisdiction over the air, water, public lands, minerals, wildlife and other natural resources within its boundaries.” Kind of the first steps in the process it would seem. So some states are dabbling it would seem. Not saying I agree or disagree just observing. |
