I watched the guest appearance of David Letterman on the Jimmy Kimmel show, and the story he chose to tell, was about going to his son's school, and telling the children, about the time a bear broke into his house.

I mean, a guy with such an incredible life, remembers that episode, as one of the most fascinating and memorable events of his life. Just shows you the true impact and wonder than animals create in this world, and we take it for granted. These are other RACES of beings, our lives have so much less meaning without them. Nearly all sports teams are named after these animals, and yet humans continue to drive them from their habitats, mindlessly slaughter them during hunting season.

Then Letterman says a little boy, asks him after his story, 'Mr. Letterman, have you ever seen a bunny', and he curls his lip in disgust at the child's stupid question, but he lives out in a big estate in the wilderness, these kids growing up today in these endless suburbs, a lot of them probably hardly ever see even a bunny, maybe a squirrel, surely they never see bears or bobcats, live raccoons or possums, badgers, beavers, otters, snakes, foxes, turtles, deer, gophers, muskrats, bullfrogs. People aren't even aware of all the animals that you used to see, once in awhile, 20 years ago, they have actually forgotten these animals even used to exist.
