yep, for the same rifle also, it's just the FBI making sure you're not muslim realistically. I got mine in a day or two after.

You will either get a visit within 48 hrs, or get the OK. They might just have to retro-fit the gun with the proper tracking,gps,and RFDI Tags/equipment. Shhhhh...that last parts secret!

It's a pattern, I was " delayed" for an m1 garand purchase from the CMP 2 weeks after purchasing another firearm with no delay. I think they're doing it on purpose. All the gun forums are talking about this, some say its because so many peeps are buyin guns and overwhelming the instacheck, others say its because your "name matches a prohibited person" and you didn't give them your slave ID number.....

It's bullshit the government only pretends to fail...

I have this theory that the more lists I'm on the harder it will be to make me disappear because of all that inter-agency paperwork.
That's my theory, and no matter how convoluted and pointless it is, I'm sticking to it.

Yes, happens to me every time even though I don't have a criminal record. It takes anywhere from 3-4 hours up to 24 hours for me. You would think if they are using your soc sec # it wouldn't be this difficult but I have been told by law enforcement friends that it's a combination of things.

The first time I was actually denied and received a letter stating that information came back that I was a convicted felon for rape in California!!! I had to jump through a few hoops to prove I have never lived in California let alone was not a felon. Ever since then I get delayed...but ultimately approved.

My son on the other hand gets approved within 5 minutes. Haha.

My first and only gun purchase was delayed 2 hours. I have the second most common last name in the United States, and a very common first name. This was the reason they gave me.

Had the same thing happen to me. I was told by the dealer that 90% of the people that this happens to are Vets.

That pisses me off, I'm not a Vet but those guys and gals know how to handle a firearm.

I've bought handguns and walked out within an hour but try to buy an "assault rifle" geez... it's no different the the model 700 Remington I already own except the Remmy only holds 5 rounds and its a .243
