MarkinAZ User ID: 20006444 United States 11/11/2012 02:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Last time I purchased a fire arm, it was from a friend who's a collector. Since it was a sale from one private party to another, there was no background check required. Apparently he sells less than five weapons per year, on average, and is therefore exempt from the federal background check requirements. He did ask me to sign a notarized statement that on X/X/XXXX date I purchased and tool physical delivery and possession of a _40_caliber, semi-automatic type HANDGUN, along with two 12/shot clips and one 18/shot clip. The manufacturer of this weapon is BROWNING NORTH AMERICA CORP., and the Serial Number on the weapon itself is: __________________. He "said" he asked for this statement because he had purchased the gun at a show and it was linked to his name/ssn because he did fill out the background check paperwork, etc., prior to being cleared to purchase it. By having a dated, notarized receipt of possession/sale to a third party - he would not and could not be held responsible for any unlawful activity involving this weapon from the date of sale forward in time. My attorney had no problem with it and I signed the statement and had my signature notarized. Both the seller and I have copes of the statement of sale/receipt of delivery. (The statement/receipt also protects me from any unlawful use of this weapon that might have take place PRIOR to my taking delivery of it. |
_____tard User ID: 26676217 United States 11/11/2012 02:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OP here is the real answer to your question. Most people get an automatic flag after their fifth firearm or so. Doesn't matter what kind it is. It's not because of your Facebook posts or viewership here. It's just how the system works. Normally these holds are no longer than 5 days and it is just designed to give the ATF fuckers a chance to review your file. I got my hold on a little tiny 22 magnum pocket gun of all things and was the final straw that convinced me to get a CCW. This requires an extensive background check and fingerprint but at least prevents any future "mommy can I please have a gun" requests. If you are the tin foil hat kind of guy you can always purchase used guns via person to person sales which in most free states do not require any paperwork. Don't stress out too much, it's just how the system works. |

Quoting: TDJ I would not worry that much this stuff happens all the time from it to being down to just having a common name worst case is if it will not still work I think you have to deal with state police they will run finger prints then then will give you your own ID number for the system check |

I've heard that the BG checks are up to 120K a day for gun sales. that is a lot and the last time I bought a gun they waited 15 minutes on the phone. |

If they find something you can't buy a gun. If they don't (within a period of time) Then you can pick up your gun. |

The dealer did call him, maybe 10 days later, and told him all is okay and he can come in and purchase the firearm. My son never found out why there was a delay. The dealer didn't know. He has since purchased a couple more and has not had a problem. When I speak to him I'll try to get more details, if there are any. BTW, he lives in PA. Anonymous Coward User ID: 22491741 United States 11/11/2012 02:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It happens to me. The guy told me the same as in the other post that vets or active military with security clearance get flagged which I am neither. I provided my SS# and had to wait an extra day. The thing with that though is after that extra day they either give it to you or refund your money because of my state law. If I would have picked it up then the bg check came back with problems then the sheriff would be sent to my house and I could get arrested. I have the same problem with background checks for jobs and when I got my ccw. For some reason the basic background check for me isn't good enough so I have to wait for a comprehensive check to be done and I also get sent a copy. |

Although the terminology is vague, It is not indicating in any way the forced implanting of RFID chips in American citizens. It is talking about RFID chips in all implantable medical devices for the purpose of their device registry. In other words, things like pacemakers, fake hips, or any other form of implanted medical device will have an RFID chip for cataloging purposes. Although this is not indicating the forced microchip of US citizens, it is definitely one more step forward. The mark of the beast will be willingly accepted for the purposes of purchasing and selling goods. This is not the case here in the health bill. |
