This was speaking to the disciples, not the readers. The disciples were given the holyspirit the spirit of truth so as they might know truth. Many are spoken to in spirit by the spirit of truth but heed not it words, there is many spirits which try decieve many are misled and do not know the difference of spirit for have not ability to discern spirit.
