I worked for a major airline in the US. I remember them hiring black pilots back when Clinton was elected just because they were black. Also, no matter how bad a flight attendant's performance/attitude was, he/she could not be fired. Probably is the same way today.

Ask the GM Dealers who got preferrence when the govt came in and decided to shut down tons of dealerships.

Dealership Franchises with more than 20 years got dumped for minority owned franchises in almost every case...

I've worked for mostly large corporations in the private sector and they all made extreme efforts in the name of diversity. In fact, if you were up against a minority in a hiring or promotion decision, you would lose. I don't see how Obama could crack down on them any more. I once briefly worked for a small private firm, only 400 employees, and though they probably paid it lip service, they didn't go out of their way to hire any old minority off the street. That's probably the company who will be forced into it. Shame.

All I can say is that I work for a bank and I hear nothing but the higher ups pushing "diveristy diversity diversity." This has been happening at least for about four years now.

One of my bosses pretty much came out and said I was passed over for a promotion because they had a quota to fill. The guy who got it is a buffoon. I can't imagine this affirmative action bullshit getting any worse. Certainly seems as if the 0 regime is doing their utmost to exacerbate racial tensions.

It's not so easy or certain that he would win these suits, and his justice dept. is currently in disarray, so I hope businesses won't overreact to this and hire blacks / fire better whites preemptively. As George Zimmerman did, stand your ground!

It's the same in my company which is a fortune 500 company here in Dallas. Women and minorities have been placed in leadership and supervisory position in which they have no business being in. We had a meeting on Thursday in which they tried to shovel some more of the BS PC diversity garbage down our throat. Me and two other co-workers after the election on Tuesday had planned on walking out next time this happened. Once they introduced the diversity council member during the meeting we got up and left. Afterwards our supervisor called us into the office and asked us why we left. We told him we weren't going to sit thru another one of those meeting because it's racially bias towards a white male. After he turned pale white he said he'd have to report this to HR. We told him to do what he had to do. We might all get shitcanned come this week but I'm tired of the crap and I'm not going to sit idle and take it anymore.

It's been like that my whole career, and that's over 30 years. Has it really been that much worse the past 4 where you are? It's always been true that a sketchily qualified black who gets thru the nominally required training can have a great career with advantages all the way along, especially a black woman. The black women get the preferences, maybe because they're double-minority or whatever, but that's how it is. The scarcity of such beneficiaries means they are vastly inferior on average, that is obvious.

I've been with the company only 8 years and I've noticed the trend really gain momentum recently.

whites and asians are not "protected classes" under the various civil rights laws. that is the legal reason.

it is massively unfair, and it has been the "law of the land" more or less since 1964.
