yeh, folks, i know police can take time to respond (at times) but imagine how savage people would become in a lawless world. it would be like a perpetual zombie apocalypse, and you'd never have no rest for fending off waves of thugs.

If there were no cops, the people would do what they did before there were cops, protect themselves.

Do you know how many successful bank robberies there were in the "Wild" west which had little to no government or law men?

Before 1900 there were no successful bank robberies in any of the major towns in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, the Dakotas, Kansas, Nebraska, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, or New Mexico with only a PAIR of them in California and Arizona.

Remember Dodge City? The one that was SOOOOOO violent? It's most violent year was 1878 where there were *GASP* FIVE murders.

Compare that today to our small towns and today we're far more violent WITH a police force than we ever were without one.

In todays modern age with all the lack of morality and ethics and a percentage of the populace who knows nothing but "getting their's by any means necessary"... yeah, you'd have those problems in certain areas for a little while maybe. But the suggestion that if we didn't pay taxes for the police to keep us safe is complete bullshit. I don't even want to look it up because I KNOW it's worse than Afghanistan but go ahead and look up Detroit or Chicago's crime rates and see how well that tax for safety thing really works.

Americans have always protected themselves and their neighbors until rather recently (last half to full century)and have a much better response time and rate of lives saved than any police force.

The latter option guarantees your safety while the former ensures your slavery.
