Not. I guess his little stunt backfired. No sympathy whatsoever. its not about sympathy its about the truth carrying a rifle and a piece of paper to say you have permission to lawfully kill people is murder plain and simple that's the truth. the greatest enemy of the lie, is the truth but the truth prevails, always Yeah the truth is he was a hateful little shit who deserves everything that's coming to him. Burning a puppy, yes! Burning a poppy? Really? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4428411 This is the answer of user alexisj9 Thread: A man from Kent has been arrested for posting an image of a burning poppy on a social network site No it was remembrance day yesterday, the Poppy is a symbol warn by most people here in England on that day for those that were killed in world war one and all those since. The burning poppy would have upset most of the older population, those in the military now and their families. Also any younger generation who cares about the past and those lives in danger now abroad. Again, I'm with that guy I really don't understand what the crime is in this story Poor taste, perhaps...but was it ever a crime in the UK to burn a poppy? Is it a crime to burn a poppy in the UK 365 days a year, or only on Remembrance day...? If it is a crime to burn poppies on Remembrance day, can somebody please post me a link? Even if it is a crime to burn a poppy, is it as a serious a crime to post a digital image of a burning poppy? I'm extremely interested in this story, because to me over here it sounds a little nutty I don't agree with insulting veterans...but then again I think its poor taste to insult any group of people on a facebook page But should people be arrested for being insensitive insulting cads? In that were case, wouldn't the prisons already be filled to overflowing? TIA! Last Edited by IssueX on 11/12/2012 11:19 AM |

In the immortal words of Stephen Fry "SO FUCKING WHAT?" I find this whole story offensive, does that change even a single thing? Does it stop the Earth rotating does it make the sun go out? Being offended is a subjective thing, it's your problem, it affects nothing in the world. Yes it was a dickhead thing to do, so FUCKING WHAT? Being a douche is a crime now is it? If I had to live near someone who was culturally very different, I could tolerate it, but if they actively provoked me by doing something like, say, stepping on my country's flag, it would be GAME ON. So maybe something like that is going on here. The article also said there was an offensive comment that went along with the photo. Intent does matter - for instance I can yell "Let's GO!", to my three kids at the park that's fine, but if I'm in a tense situation near a gang fight and I yell "Let's GO!", I could be found guilty of inciting a riot. |
