If he's lucky enough to return home, he'll never be the same. Two of my son's best friends joined up and came back from Afghanistan about 6 months ago. Why we wanted to join? Mostly the G.I. bill. They offer a great package for college & other educational stuff after his service. He's going to be trained in hand to hand combat etc.
