Just because the 50 states might all go independent of federal power doesn't automatically mean that every individual state is going to go spinning off on in its own political and social orbit. What it does mean, IMHO, is the reformation of the old political groupings that existed in the early days. Here's a list of what the power-blocs could look like, in the event of a complete political dislocation due to too many disagreements; 1) New England (and possibly the Maritimes if Quebec goes independent) 2) Great Lakes States (NY, PA, OH, ILL, IN, WIS, MICH) and possibly WVA and KY) and Ontario IQGI) 3) The Old Confederacy 4) The Great Plains (KS, NEB, the Dakotas, MO, IA) 5) The Mountain States (NMEX, AZ, Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Colorado) 6) West Coast (Washington, Oregon and California) |

The only way to logistically get ourselves out of the hole we've been digging since 1912 is to repeal the Constitution and default. At that point the US will splinter into the 4-5 geographies that we're all already familiar with. Can't happen to us, you say? Had you been in the Soviet Union in 1988, I'll bet you would have said the same thing. www.TheGrainMillWF.com - Bulk foods, long term storage solutions www.CatawbaCoops.com - Unique A-Frame chicken coop plans www.CandyTwerp.com - More candy, less money! |

| Hahahaha User ID: 28872856 12/09/2012 11:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The FIRST thing you need to understand is that those are NOT official petitions to secede filed by the state governments. They are "popular" petitions filed by INDIVIDUALS who reside within those states. Thus far, at least 4 of the governors have stated publicly that their states will NOT secede. The SECOND thing you need to get is that NO state will EVER secede. That's because the state government is a SUBCORPORATION of the corporate federal government, and they are NOT breaking away from the mothership. They will NOT forfeit hundreds of millions in federal tax dollars. To put it succinctly, they are on the federal teat and aren't getting off of it. All this 10th Amendment talk is just populist rhetoric to get the sheeple all fired up (to perpetuate the myth that "their vote counts" and "they have a say" and that their position is represented AND -- most importantly -- that the states' rights portions of the CONstitution still hold true). Ron Paul and talk radio hosts are whipping those idiots into a frenzy. I look forward to the day when the lazy morons in this country actually sit down and READ the fucking CONstitution wiht a legal dictionary at their side. Until that happens, they will not understand the document and will continue to rely on talking heads to tell them what it says. |
