And you can create a petition to proclaim the moon is made of Tara reid's breast implants. Dumbass. If Romney had won and Vermont, Oregon, Illinois and a dozen other blue states posted secession petitions, you would proclaiming how it was a clear sign the will of the people had been ignored When Bush won again, Vermont threatened to secede and was applauded for it So it's ok when a leftist state wants to leave? I'll just ignore your ad hominem insults and attacks as a reflection on the kind of shithole you probably are being forced to live in.... Should Vermont secede from the union? Are you aware that over half the states of the US have declared sovereignty, including blue states? |

The government is for the people by the people, not the other way around. The 13 colonies decreed their independence from the English king on those very grounds, after all... it would be quite ironic to say today people would be traitor who wanted to free themselves from some unwanted ruler. Speaking purely theoretically, of course. |

It is one I was tracking in 2010, appears to be picking up steam again...it works within our current government's framework, which is always the wise way to go when possible [link to www.sodahead.com] We Are 3 States Away From A Constitutional Convention Towards Healthcare Reform Posted 07/08/10 Governors of 35 states have already filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention. Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution - "Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States ." That is simply stupid. Really, and why is that stupid? |

Texas will have grown by 200% if Mexico attacks Texas. -- "The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their? president.. Texas could break away with LA . Give the states a year of military protection.Allow the states to build their own military's and control their own borders. It would allow the states to be removed from federal requirements on oil drilling, refinery production, etc.It would bring down the price of fuel in the u.s with trade. Because the states arent going to join any opec, or U.N bullshit. But then again the federal government is trying to destroy the u.s not fix it. They are pulling for the one world government. Fucking treasonous bastards... Quoting: MidwestGuy 26703676 marxist dork.... Same talk coming out of California...some even say it may be the solution to California's debt: Should California Be Its Own Country? Southern California To Secede From State? [link to www.californiarebellion2012.com] [link to www.petitiononline.com] The case for California's secession is as follows: * California Has Been Abandoned by the Federal Government In California's greatest hour of need she was brutaly abandoned by the federal government, under both Democratic and Republican administrations. When California was devasted by an energy crisis artificially created by hostile forces in other states, the federal government did nothing to protect her and actively held California's hands by her side so she could not defend herself from her attackers. This purposeful betrayal broke the sacred trust between Calfornia and the federal government. No event could make it more blindingly clear why California has nothing to gain by staying faithful to the federal governement and nothing to lose by striking out on her own. * The Federal Government Steals Tax Dollars from California California's federal tax burden is great. California pays far more in taxes than she gets back. A majority of the nation takes from California and gives little in return. California and Californians are being used. |

Will the US (of the 49 statesq) step in ? You mistake the relationship between Texas and Mexico. That wouldn't happen. We are trading partners. Mexicans have always been a part of Texas. There is alot of Mexican influence in our culture. Now we'd surely come down harder on the border than the feds especially with all the violence there these days but Texas and Mexico are pretty close. Have a look at any Texas town next month and just watch how many Mexicans go home for the holidays. They take money to their family there then come back. It's all very intertwined. That's why immigration policy is so complicated for border states. With it you have a friendship and a close relation but also a problem. |
