It's a sales pitch for for all you consumers nowadays. But even before it was profitized it wasn't christian. Almost all of the seasonal traditions are based off of Pagan practices. The gifts and tree are pagan. The main celebration is the birth of the son in the Pagan religion. Not to mention, the most important note, Christ was not even born in December. He was born sometime in spring, according to the bible itself. So all of you have been played Quoting: Metrofean That is a load of horse shit Metro. The holiday was around long before big box stores. | cutetornadoF5 cutetornado User ID: 12539835 11/13/2012 12:23 AM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1550123 Christmas isn't a Christian holiday. It is a pagan holiday in honor of the demon god Mithras. And there never was a Nativity scene. There were no wise men at the manger. Only shepherds. The astrologers didn't show up until Jesus was a young child living in a house. The story is so full of lies. Jesus didn't even celebrate his birthday. No Jews did that as it was a pagan custom. The pagans had a holyday for Mthras. Christians have a Holy Day called Christmas. The fall at about the same time of year. The Pagans didn't have a Christmas Holy day, they had their own. It's really not a hard concept to grasp. Just like two different people can have a birthday on the same day. John's birthday doesn't cancel out Mary's birthday. Yeah, but Christians specificly chose that day so Pagans could convert to thier religion more easily, Thats the issue other religions have. I don't give a fuck about Jesus or christmas, My kids love the concept of Santa not Jesus. What? You don't want your kids to celebrate the birth of a man that lived over 2000 years ago, who's image was molded by bored desert dwellers and remolded hundreds of years later by men rewriting a book to form a new world-wide feel-good cult that massacred millions of people? But.. but.. he died for you and I mean it's not as if plenty of people don't die for you daily while they're off fighting a group of corporations bullshit war. Btw.. if you don't believe in him you will burn in an eternal lake of fire. He loves you. Celebrate the man-gods birthday. He was born in a stable, do you know how shitty stables are? Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:35-39). But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved (Ephesians 2:4-5). Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God (Ephesians 5:2). But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:4-5). *The more I know, the less I understand. All the things I thought I'd figured out I have to learn again* |
