Maybe they just are not in to Christmas creep. Give them time.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1508876

But that is what Christmas was started for, the birth of Christ. I mean that is Christmas!
If you dont believe in Jesus why do you celebrate Christmas?
You can buy material gifts all year long.

They had their Christmas cards up.

NOT ONE SHOWED JESUS, MARY, JOSEPH, THE WISE MEN, A NATIVITY, A STAR OF BETHLEHEM.

THERE WERE NO RELIGIOUS CARDS WHATSOEVER EITHER.

Did they have any Buddhist cards? or cards reflecting Islam? Judeoism?

Should be glad they were professional enough not to do it; its all or nothing now for religion; the days of the christian right as a political force are pretty much over; this means christians have to adapt; means you cant expect cultural bias anymore; and you cant expect people to be receptive to the shitty contract you guys always trying to sell.

Where I live, the Hanukkah stuff is the next aisle over from the Christmas stuff. And the Kwanzaa stuff is in the next aisle from there.

Although, depending on the side of town you're on - Hanukkah and Kwanzaa may share an aisle. Supply and demand...

I don't believe the Buddhists or Muslims do cards or decorations. But I have noticed sales on Middle Eastern food and ingredients around the Eid's and Ramadan.

Seriously - people need to chill out and show some respect for each other and the various religions. If someone wishes me a Happy Hanukkah, I wish it back to them....and toss in a Merry Christmas. My Muslim friends very happily wish me a Merry Christmas, and I very happily wish them Happy Ramadan or Happy Eid.

I'll happily celebrate any feast or holy day. It doesn't influence MY chosen belief system...and it sure is fun!peace

Figurines of President Barack Obama are being put in nativity scenes in shops in Naples, Italy for the Christmas season.

I can see why this is happening. Old people, young people wanting Obama to help them with higher education, disabled people, single mothers, people with disabilities, people on food stamps, anyone who has entitlements are hoping that Obama will save them, Obama will give them salvation. Obama seems to be the new Jesus. People might disagree but I can see it happening. Because of high employment, a broke economy, jobs shipped overseas that are never coming back, high levels of legal and illegal immigrants taking jobs, people have become too desperate. It will only get worse

Christaphobes are nothing but cowards, like the bullies on the playground.
If some Christian was forcing you to go to their church or
preaching to you at your place of work or admonishing you or your children for not being Christian
or terrorizing you with threats I could see your point.
But that is not what most Christians are.
And you in your infinite tolerance have terrorized and bullied a mass amount of caring, loving people so you can be what......
in a religion free zone ?
Good luck with that, most of the planet has some type of belief.
And good luck with Sharia Law when it couldn't care less

We're not cowards. We're telling you how it is.
And your statement is quite the hilarity, considering how people were turned christian back in the day. But I guess that's okay right? Or else you wouldn't be such god fearing people always spewing your lies and telling the rest of us we'll go to hell?
I'm sick and tired of hearing that. So that's why I'm here.
If you'd just believe in quietness, we'd have no problem.

Good one!

There's been a few time's I've said to waitresses and other people "Happy Holidays" and got berated "IT'S CHRISTMAS!, NOT ANYTHING ELSE!" How the hell was I supposed to know if they celebrated christmas, hanukkah, the solstice etc. And it IS a "holidays" (plural) because of New Years. I was just being nice. touchy touchy. Lighten up.

And since I lean toward the earth religions and celebrate solstice, how come they don't have any Happy Winter Solstice cards anywyhere? There is Freedom of religion in this "free" country, isn't there? Should I be pissed nobody respects or recognizes MY religious beliefs?

While in Europe it's called Basque, Easter is based on Esther, the goddess of fertility, who's symbols were the rabbit, for obvious reasons and the egg (re: the hormone estrogen). Christs chronological birthday is calculated to be in June or September. It got changed to convert Pagans to Christianity easier, since in Europe they celebrated the shortest day and longest night of the year as a start of longer days and more sun and the end of long hard winter (and to break up the harsh winter with a day of celebration for the children). Then comes Easter, the spring equinox, the time in spring to start planting crops and celebrate their fertility and growth.

SINCE we all believe in freedom, and freedom of religion to worship the God of our choice, I WANT MY RELIGION to be recognized by big national chain stores selling thousands of chinese plastic what-nots. Wah Wah Wah...

Oh, I believe Jesus WAS a prophet. So was Buddha, Black Elk, and many others. Prove me wrong.

Happy Holidays everyone...

There are many stores with an anti- Christian, anti- Christmas agenda. When you go into a store for something for Christmas and all you see is HOLIDAY trees, wreathes, lights, etc, demand to see the manager. Tell them to show you where in their store you can find tbe word CHRISTMAS.

Tell them as a Christian you will never set foot in their store again. Do it.n

This time it's November 12th. Still no cards. If you look on the Target website - at least last year this was true - they had two sort of ugly Christian cards.

The also had a message that the cards were not available in stores.

IOW, Target is listing the cards as an "out." "Oh we have Christian cards. Take a look at our website." Prevaricators.
