I'm sure this is where I'll be and cooking a turkey for just me...I'll have leftovers for a week.

Go volunteer at a soup kitchen. You'll be surrounded by a ton of people truly grateful for what is in front of them and surrounding them. This is the first Thanksgiving since my mother died that I'm NOT spending it with a ton of relatives, and while it's sad, in a way, I can't wait to not have to listen to this one complaining about this, that one complaining about that... I'd rather be at the soup kitchen. Maybe I will... Chin up, OP.

if not, why not volunteer: "meals on wheels", read to a senior, find a lonely neighbor....lot's to do if you look.

This. See if you have any friends who also don't have plans and eat together, or if that fails, volunteer. Do SOMETHING. You'll be happy you did.

Noooooo - don't look at it as a bad thing. Think about all the things you can get done when you don't have to cook/clean for a houseful of people!

My college-aged daughter couldn't come home and my husband has a fishing thing in NJ so he's driving up for that and will spend Thanksgiving with her. I've told my son that he needs to spend Thanksgiving with his significant other. This will free me up to do some painting and fix-up jobs during my days off. The last thing I want is to spend my days shopping, cleaning, and cooking for Thanksgiving! PBJ here I come!

Im gonna burn a few days off and have a 2nd Thanksgiving.

i work every thanksgiving, feeding dogs/cats. Its hard but rewarding.
