Looks like I will be spending Thanksgiving alone again.

I'll just bump this thread when I wake up.

I'm with you. It's a lonesome feeling...but it's not about you personally. You are probably like me, divorced, recent death in the family, grown up kids, family across seas, friends with out of town relatives, happily married friends, and well, my family remaining, a bit disfunctional. So, yeah, it's a sad time for you. I am sad. My life has changed, things are not the same as it was in my past times. Just know, you are not alone. Others are feeling this too, a loss and misfortune. I will spend my day thinking of the ones who are gone now, and the times that we were all together. The times when I was growing up. My children, when they were with me.

We'll be here together, one big happy GLP family!

Christian churches make sure that none of their people who attend have to spend thanksgiving alone. Go to an authentic Christian church. There are plenty of people there who make sure everone has thanksgiving dinner.

I have a friend as well who doesn't like being alone.

Funny thing though, I can be alone (no other person in the house) but for some reason I never FEEL like I'm alone. I can't explain it. I like to think it's the presence of God. But maybe I'm just different. I don't know.

Sometimes alone isn't bad. 8)

Now I can't even go out and buy a turkey to cook. My back acted up yesterday and am in extreme pain. Takes everything out of me just to work. I might ask someone to pick one up for me.

Me too. And sometimes that in itself is irritating. I can't really scream at the top of my lungs because "someone" is always around. ;)

They are dreading my coming as much as I am dreading going, I'm sure. Especially when any fool can see they've got a big "I TOLD YOU SO" coming with all the ME turmoil and financial collapse talk. I might have a few of them on my side this year, though, since I know not a one of them voted for Obama. Maybe they are starting to see the writing on the wall. I tend to doubt it.

The nicest person I ever met went shopping for me today...so I'll be cooking a turkey on Thanksgiving and getting drunk. If you read this...I just have to say thank you again.

Damn Butterball!I almost cooked my turkey with the plastic bag of giblets in it. I found the neck but it took me half an hour to find that damn plastic bag, thought they just forgot to put it in there. Why do they put them in two different places? The neck in the body cavity and the plastic bag in the neck area. WTF why not put everything in one place and DON'T put the shit in a plastic bag...in case an idiot like me is cooking and forgets to take it out.
