When the world turns Brother against Brother what do you do? My heart is torn in two.
Why is it that we do everything we can to help and please others and many of those that we watch over are the first to turn their back on us, even our own family...this world really amazes me sometimes, I'm desperately in need of a pep talk on why I should continue to try to save these souls when they can't see the forest thru the trees to save their own lives?

My faith in humanity wains and the ties that bind are becoming more and more tenuous every day. This world turns brother against brother, it has no bias and those that allow it to rule their lives are bound to their path by fear and hate, a vicious and cyclical fate that promises only darkness for those that it traps.

I can't tell you how sad and distressed I am about this but every event has it's purpose so I cannot question it, only move forward and learn from my experiences. My love is boundless yet it has it's limits, no bridge is indestructible it seems.

I lost my brother today, not out of death but over money, a business relationship, a company that I poured blood, sweat and tears into, quite literally. I'm not looking for sympathy, I am simply stating that my faith in this place and these people is being severely tested and it doesn't feel like it's going very well for the other side.

Everything does happen for a reason.
If whatever you did was on the side of Love that is the
best one can do. The only possible regret would be lack of clarity in your positions.
Sometimes creative solutions are birthed from cooler heads
and sometimes it is best to walk away .

I sorry, maybe you can ask for Gods' guidance to help you in this situation. To knit your family back together. Do you really love your business more than your brother? Do you love it more than God?

Things a fleeting in life, what is more important a business that takes all you blood sweat and tears, or the time you won't have for more important things call sharing yourself with others?

I have been on the receiving end, of the not sharing of themselves, I missed a lot, you can't get it back.

You can't choose your relatives, as they say.
Sad, but true.
Keep yer chin up and love him unconditionally, but with distance!
IMO.
Peace.

I'm in the same position as you with my family. They are stuck in that fear-hate zone. People like to hate on others because that's much easier than to look at themselves and deal with their own issues. I'm just hoping they wake up to what they are doing soon. It started about 6 months or so ago.

Those closest to us that hurt us, teach us the most meaningful lessons about ourselves. Look deeply at the kesson learned. Look within and how it defines who you are. To thine ownself be true.

Re: When the world turns Brother against Brother what do you do? My heart is torn in two.
Money makes people to strange things. My family fought tooth and nails over my mother's estate and to this day (five years later) there are members who rarely talk - family members who spent the decades prior being very close. I couldn't believe all the items from the house which just disappeared. It was very disheartening because you expect family to be on the up-and-up with each other but their hidden inner selves are shown in such situations.

I think some of it is entitlement - if the person was used to getting something for doing next to nothing (such as kids and sometimes siblings), they get pissed when the gravy train ends. Other times, it's a difference of opinion regarding how to handle investments but one person has the final say and does what he/she thinks best. This angers the others who feel their input was ignored. After all, when it all comes down to the basics, everyone is out for number one. It's always best if you can talk and keep anger out of it but family members are quick to anger.

But, even when you put family aside, you see this issue frequently. Look at the "humanitarian" efforts our country has put into other locations around the world only to have the administrators in those locations swindle the money, or the people receive the aid and complain it wasn't enough, or sometimes they take the aid but then turn violent towards our workers. Look at the money we are required to send to the UN - way over what it should be - and we are still told it's not enough by other member nations who pay a fraction of our dues.

Look at the aid we give to our own through entitlement programs and they still want more and show no gratitude for what they do receive.

Hopefully, time will mend the rift with your brother... I know right now it's sitting like a rock in your gut. Try not to make this a permanent issue with him.
