Decades of communism have left a less than advantageous economy and living conditions, not to mention extreme poverty and lack of economic opportunity.
I mean no disrespect to the peoples of eastern europe, I just use the region as an example of what not to do.
I am not saying that communism was something good... But it is not much different than capitalism... there is many Eastern European countries who could quickly switch to capitalism after the fall of communism but where are we now? In enormous debt to IMF... almost every family has debt to banks...
is that higher standart of living...? Almost every person had property in 90's after we get independence... now many of those families have lost their properties to banks...
My point is that capitalism is failing... we need a new system... capitalism at some point was better than communism.... but it is not working any more.. we need something that can work better than capitalism... something that is not driven by constantly growing consumption...

China, which has managed to lift hundreds of millions of people from poverty to middle class prosperity, is experiencing capitalism

China has created millions of millionaires, has seen the population become ignited with the excitement which comes with entrepreneurial success
and yet we in the west, the home of capitalism, are being scolded that it doesn't work
No, it is how it is being implemented...but it sure seems like someone wants China to succeed and the west to fail
When I was a kid, we would see pictures of China where the population was riding bikes, while we rode comfortable cars
Now we're being told that we should accept that our lifestyles and budgets may force us to ride bikes even as the car companies are celebrating the rich Chinese consumer now able to afford millions of new cars.....
