They love darkness and evil more then good and light.
God is love, therefore it's only natural for them to hate God, even if they don't believe in him.
Something inside them(God's holy spirit) tells them that they're wrong, but they are addicted to sin and perversions, therefore they can not believe even if they want to.

Love of sin, love of death. It's a disease.

Now I wait for them to virtually surround me to devour me like a lion devours it's prey.
But I fear not, for God is with me, what can a man do to me!
