Rather surprising Steven Sinofsky, head of Windows division, leaves Microsoft
In a rather surprising move, Steven Sinofsky, head of the Windows division at Microsoft, has decided to leave the company. This move comes shortly after Microsoft's biggest launch in years and a product Sinofsky directly worked on. He will be replaced by former Coporate Vice President of Windows Client - Julie Larson-Green - effective immediately. [link to www.gsmarena.com]

Right. when you reach that kind of high level at Microsoft, you are basically a made man.

You don't leave Microsoft. Microsoft leaves you.

Microsoft's press release states that the decision for Sinofsky's departure is mutual, but even if that is the case, one has to wonder about the reason behind the move. What we do know is that Julie Larson-Green will be promoted to lead all Windows software and hardware engineering effective immediately.

It's all a plan to torpedo another company with an "ex" MS exec. They have done it quite a few times already, most recently to Nokia.

Re: Rather surprising Steven Sinofsky, head of Windows division, leaves Microsoft
He found out what role the gov't had with Microsoft in information mining thru people's computers and emails and everything and when windows 8 was released he was made full aware of what implications windows 8 had with sharing (taking) without knowledge, the information of it's users from their own personal computers. He basically went against it and was threatened with a life changing event or to voluntarily resign and never speak of it.

He chose to resign.

Re: Rather surprising Steven Sinofsky, head of Windows division, leaves Microsoft
win 8 will be a failure.

It has been admitted now by tech geeks, that nobody wants metro interface if their using either a home pc or a laptop. They only want it when mobile using tablets or phones which are touch screen anyway.

The problem is win 8 is metro interface and aero interface in one software package. This results in the full blown windows 8 with metro interface even when used on a mobile device which is apparently the main problem. Its way too much software and too many bugs to deal with for a mobile device like a tablet. its too vast, and its the reason for example why Apple did not try and put max os 10 on an Iphone.
It would be lunacy.

but its what microsoft have done.

Didnt you guys even watch Armaggeddon?

The elite have gotten the call/text to start boarding the Arks.
They are leaving the zombies/puppets here to fight over whatever is left after the massive destruction of pretty much everything here.

He's a scapegoat, maybe he just had enough of the idiot in charge.
It's all Balmer's fault. He's a self centered psychopath.
I mean just look at that guy, he's weird.

Windows 8 is the ugliest, moronic looking crap I have ever seen.

It looks like someone's 3rd grader designed it.

I could be wrong, but I sense another Windows ME or Vista disaster on the way.

Plus, Enterprise IT Departments are already shaking their heads. Who would want this ugly crap on their PC's at work?

Leaving or resigning a position is not the equivalent of "disappearing and going underground" no matter how pathetically you try to spin it.

Why don't you display your personal list of "elites" now and then we will see how many of them "disappear" instead of working backwards like all CT's tend to do?

How about this...."Hey guys, I'm going underground because S is about to HTF". Wait for it.........still waiting? That's all you are gonna get. Excuses why they are leaving the public eye and it just so happens that a lot of them are making excuses that don't add up in the year that a lot of people have spoken so much of. Besides that, enough has happened to show the world isn't normal and for those in the know, they are sure gonna get the hell out before things start happening. And if everything is normal to you, well, nothing else I have to say:

I wouldn't really respond to you but just for the sake of it, there you go.

Re: Rather surprising Steven Sinofsky, head of Windows division, leaves Microsoft
The big Corporate buyers are NOT going to be buying Windows 8 ... at least for a LONGGGG Time.

Corporate users do NOT want to train 10,000 users in their organization an entirely new way to work on computers ... particularly when the misc. operating parts of the software are hidden from sight and must be remembered in one's brain as to where they are located. (sure programmers are BRIGHT people who may be able to remember 30 different HIDDEN locations to find stuff off the side of the screen, but the average corporate drone is, look SHOCKED!!, of AVERAGE intelligence and just doesn't easily acquire that same ability)

For corporate users the TIME LOST in training people an entirely new way to work on computers PLUS their time lost because they will NOT be as productive for weeks (maybe months) is a much higher cost than the cost of the software itself. THEY JUST WON'T WANT TO DO THAT. (Time DOES = Money)

Windows 8 may eventually get traction ... but it won't be until they give an option to make viewable again the various command functions that have previously been viewable (and allow multiple windows to be open on the screen simultaneously)
