In his statement, Panetta said Allen would remain as commander of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan for now, “while the matter is under investigation and before the facts are determined.”

Mr Panetta said Gen. Allen's nomination as NATO supreme commander had now been put in hold with the agreement of President Barack Obama.

YOu would think that people would recognise a dictator after all the historical precendence...but still heads are in the sand.

This is a very very powerful and respected man....about to be taken down in an embarrassing heap.

There is a landslide of events happening and as someone mentioned above...that is scary.

Especially the climate and context that this is occuring in.

Exactly. Dogs that know how other dogs bite and prepare for such eventualities.

Having an affair, however unlawful for your spouse and wrong, is not something that brings down military leaders, in-and-of itself. There is very likely much more to this picture, as we all realize here.

The question is, what is the next move on the chess board?

Thats 3 top men now, I think its more along the lines thats there been an internal argument among tptb. I dont think its Obama himself doing it, more like they tried to back the wrong side in the elections. It reminds of Hitlers house cleaning at certain points.

There is so much going on around the place at the moment...I really think that the general public people dont know where to look at the moment. But you can bet there are people in the military beying for blood over this....

Standard operating procedure in controlling the halls of power...

Dirt is collected on EVERY politician, military brass, etc. where available, and by whatever means necessary. If you play ball and go along with the program, this dirt doesn't see the light of day. But dare to "step off the reservation", and your dirty laundry will "mysteriously" come to light, and you'll lose your job. It's TPTB's underhanded security contract. That's why they get very uneasy with someone like Ron Paul, who combines a philosophical 180 in political thinking (meaning, ironically, getting back to the law of the land -- the U.S. Constitution) with stellar character, and an exemplary history. He has no dirt with which to act as the sword of Damacles being wielded over him by TPTB. This makes TPTB very nervous.

Doesnt exactly fit the profile that Obama is a weak president. I dont know, seems totally out of character of what he has done so far.

What we're seeing is nothing less than a PURGE of top military and intelligence commanders.

The question is: Is this purge to coverup past wrongdoings?

Or is this purge to replace top commanders who don't agree with a planned, upcoming action by the Administration?

At least in Russia, they don't insult anyone's intelligence. If the leader wants someone gone, they dismiss them. Here in the U.S., they hide behind "morality" (extramarital affairs) to provide cover for implementing their agenda.

Does anyone really think 90% of these high-ranking, powerful political and military commanders haven't had an affair?! LOL! It's just that most compromise their principles and play ball", so they're left alone.

what's out of character? Blackmail and Chicago thug politics???

Meaning: Benghazi, most likely.

And this is the second time they've told us these unbelievably incredible amounts of communications between two people over just a couple of years. It's like they want us to not believe it...
