Once upon a time in the USA, the majority of workers had pensions and Social Security was made to supplement those pensions. Pensions, however, are going extinct as corporations have been moving strongly towards employee contribution 401k's, stock options and the like. Now, Hostess is following suit with many other very notable names such as Kodak and American Airlines in using bankruptcy to shirk their existing pension obligations... Never did like Hostess anyways so they really don't fall in my esteem. I prefer to eat food and not wax. AO |

This puts undo pressure on the remaining companies that they can't afford in this business climate. |
