what if overpopulation wasn't a real threat?
We are so used to believing that if every man on Earth had food, water, a place to live, and shelter, and only had to work... say... five hours a week to get this...

...that there would be overpopulation. People would spend all their time @#$%ing and everyone would breed unchecked.

But many scientists and economists have found in population studies, that in times of plenty populations naturally flatline or even go down.

Look at the richest countries. People have two children on average. Sometimes less. Japan has a negative birthrate. Their younger generation is smaller than the older one.

So... what if overpopulation wasn't a threat?

Think about it. Even with the technology we have today, forget about all of the suppressed stuff, it only takes about one percent of the population to produce all the food we need.

Maybe another five percent of the population to construct basic housing for everyone.

Water? Extremely easy. Especially in developed nations.

So with everyone's needs filled, what kind of economy would you have? If people didn't have to pay for basic food, clothing, medical care, etc.

What would everyone do?

Yeah. In countries where people are poor and have like ten kids.

The populations of wealthy countries is declining.

Look, I'm not a socialist. I was just thinking about technology and how its making whole industries obsolete. And I suddenly realized that one day we might actually have the technology to make all NECESSARY jobs obsolete.

So when robots do ALL of our farming for us. Get all of our water. Manufacture buildings in a single day, etc.

What kind of economy could we have? It is beyond my imagination.

You don't have to look too far or too hard to see the impact of the masses on the planet.

A 100% increase in the white population would have little environmental impact. A 100% decrease in the non-white population would restore nature to a pristine condition.
