Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9414469 ...and how many in your town are even aware of the petition? You make it sound like the entire state voted, and only 25K were in favor. I am not a signatory of the Texas petition, never will be... but we should take this seriously because there are a signficant number of people in this state who would sign that petition. Unlikely enough to turn-the-tide... for now. If things keep going as they do... a decade from now mmay be a different story. We are NOT that far away from a dissolution of the USA. Have a nice day = GFY. GFY = Go Fuck Yourself. If this offends you then have a nice day. |

IssueX User ID: 14348632 United States 11/13/2012 01:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Texas, this shithole full of primitive barbarians ... eyesore of civilized mankind ... really not a loss. Byebye Quoting: Anonymous Coward 13137091 lol @ the racist troll who uses the German IP of course it wouldnt matter to you, because you don't work, don't know anyone who does and hate anyone who has a business shill on Texas: the top state for doing business in the USA, third year running [link to www.cnbc.com] ... Hey, but who needs AT&T, Dell Computers, Catepillar, Exxon, Sysco, Texaco or Texas Instruments anyway.... fucking capitalist job creators...screw them, right? Well Obamabot, Texas is responsible for over 50% of all jobs created in the USA in the past 3 years...something Obama had the gaul to take credit for when he has fought Texas policies which work the entire time Texas unemployment rate is 6.8^ and 3% in the oil patch (ooooh, bad fossil fuels) All of the unemployment rates for Texas’ five major metropolitan areas fell last month from August. The Dallas area’s rate fell to 6.3 percent from 6.9 percent. Fort Worth’s rate dropped to 6.2 percent from 6.9 percent. Midland had the state’s lowest rate at 3.3 percent. The McAllen area had the highest rate at 10.5 percent. Even leftists have to admit its true: For the last few weeks, I've been unable to get a startling statistic out of my head: Since the recession officially ended, Texas has created more than 4 of every 10 new jobs in America. That's right, Texas: the reddest of red states, home to gun lovers and school textbooks that openly question whether the Founding Fathers intended for the separation of church and state. I am no ideologue. Still, whenever I get political, I tend to tilt reflexively to the left, making the jobs figure a bit disconcerting at first. [link to articles.latimes.com] So what is the employment rate in the shit hole you're posting from? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9414469 25000 signatures is the threshold at which the white house is supposed to respond. those who think 75,000 signatures in 2 days is nothing, should try starting a petition and see whether they can get even 5000 people to agree It's amazing, but the media will focus on 200 OWS people camping in a public park, and make them out to be a landslide grass roots movement, but they 75,000 taxpayers who are in favor of national divorce are said to mean nothing.... whether you agree with these people or not, tell me one election in your memory which triggered 30 state petitions for secession within days? ( several of which have already gathered the needed 25,000 needed for an official government acknowledgement) |

I actually added up the signatures of all the states petitions (36 at the time) and it was over450K signatures.
