70k people live in my town alone, so 100k signatures not impressive to me... how many signatures does it take to make it "OFFICIAL"?

( several of which have already gathered the needed 25,000 needed for an official government acknowledgement) I agree with you! I actually added up the signatures of all the states petitions (36 at the time) and it was over450K signatures.
