Twenty F-15 jets flew over my house in Tennessee!

This is my first post but I wanted to see if anyone else in the area witnessed this? Around 9:30 this morning a loud engine roar was heard. Everyone in my house thought it was a commercial plane crashing in my town of Hermitage, TN...located 10 miles East of Nashville, TN.

My brother-in-law lives around the corner in the same neighborhood and he happened to be standing outside while this took place. He said he first saw one traveling eastward, then another behind it, then another and another for a total of 15. Then, suddenly five more blazed behind them in a stacked formation. He said these five were all engaging their afterburners which is what caused the loud noise and were flying so low he could see the glass enclosures on top.

Once the five joined up with the other 15, they all took a hard turn to the left and headed north. He also said that they were fully loaded (he knows his planes). Then he saw two other planes follow behind them that looked like re-fueling planes. We are thinking they came out of Nashville airport (BNA) but not sure.

Just to add, in the last hour after this happened, I have been hearing an unusual amount of commercial jets taking off.

Any ideas of what may be taking place as these planes seemed to be in a big hurry and this activity is definitely NOT normal in this area.
