The reason they "don't care" is because at this point it is mathematically fucking impossible to ever "balance" this budget. Read that again. Both sides know it, and that's part of the scam.

I have had 9 quarters of collegiate-level mathematics including calculus, diff eq, linear algebra and engineering statistics, plus I work in financial services. Compound interest is the 8th wonder of the world. The current debt/deficit has reached the point where additional interest accumulation has gone parabolic, and there is no way to ever pay it off. EVER. Both sides know it, which is why 1) interest rates have been kept artificially low, and 2) Obammy keeps on spending. It doesn't matter.

The US govt is the family making $25k a year with $100k in credit card debt, only the family can't print any more money so it goes BK. US on the other hand, will just keep printing until the train hits the wall. At some point, the US dollar will become worthless (and will no longer be the world's reserve currency), because that's just the way it goes. There is no stopping it. It is a freight train going 120 mph, and a few miles ahead there is no more track.

You forgot that the top 90% recieve 85-90% of the income, so 70% of the tax for the rich is still a deal, and screwing the middle class or lower class!

I wonder who tells you those statistics? Gov't, perhaps? Whatever!
My family certainly isn't rich, but at least we don't live on welfare, and we're struggling enough as it is, yet almost 1/3 of our income goes to taxes! Hell, we'd be better off if we did live on welfare, but such a scheme goes against my principles.

The only way nearly 50% of Americans get away with not paying taxes, then I'd bet they're all unempled and possibly living on welfare or unemployment. Even my 89 yr old retired grandmother pays taxes. Some people are seriously naive!
