Go climb the stair with careful step and sure
Aligned the rise will be within each breath
For effort calls with purpose to endure
All that which seeks to fall to certain death
The light within the tower shifts and fades
As shadows paint their names upon the wall
The echoes sing compliant serenades
Seducing resonances add their call
And still the vision of the spire above
Seems far and ever farther out of reach
Till all the things that used to rhyme with love
Forget they ever had the power of speech
Then there within this space shall come a chance
That elephants will be inspired to dance
